Ashley Darby revealed she and Kyle Richards had spoken about her supposed flirting with Mauricio Umansky during filming on the upcoming season of the Real Housewives: Ultimate Girls Trip while appearing on Sunday’s episode of Watch What Happens Live.
As she also reacted to the backlash Angel Massie‘s business has faced due to their controversial trip to Colorado, addressed Karen Huger‘s interview, and spoke of her “love-hate” relationship with “liar” Stacey Rusch, the 37-year-old Real Housewives of Potomac star admitted to having drama with Adriana de Moura, 60, at BravoCon, called out Angel, and explained her run-in with Mauricio, 55, after being asked about potential hypocrisy regarding the shade she threw at Stacey due to her interaction with Monique Samuels‘ ex-husband, Chris Samuels, 48.
“Kyle and I did talk about this the other day [on camera for RHUGT], so you’ll know the truth, but I did not flirt with Mauricio. Let the record reflect. I did not,” she declared on the February 1 episode of WWHL. “I just wanted [Stacey] to tell the truth. She was just lying. Just be like, ‘Yeah, I was out with him. And?’ That would’ve shut me right up.”
Regarding the backlash Angel received, Ashley first said it was “really sad” before suggesting she dropped the ball.
“It’s really sad because I love that Angel does that. There aren’t a lot of Black women who do outfitting services like that,” she noted. “[So] I feel bad in that capacity, but sis, literally everything was handed to you on a platter. Everything was there. And you just didn’t know where we were going? It was sad.”
As for Karen, 62, asserting that Wendy Osefo, 41, knew why she didn’t thank her in her video message, Ashley confirmed she was not surprised.
“There is some deep-rooted things between Wendy and Karen … [And] it does come to a head,” she confirmed.
Looking to the recently taped reunion, Ashley said it was “very good” as she noted that Karen’s appearance was “even more telling about who she is.”
“That will be very good to see,” she admitted.
Continuing on about Karen’s interview, Ashley reacted to her marriage concerns.
“That was really heartbreaking. Karen has always said that her marriage is an institution, and we believe that, all of us do in the group, so the last thing we’d want to see, especially now, when Karen is coming out on the other side, to know that she could potentially not be with [Ray Huger] is heartbreaking.”
Then asked if she was surprised that Karen admitted the Legal Sea Food info was true, Ashley said she “appreciated the validation.”
“Usually, everyone calls me a liar and that I’m messy. But … I wasn’t saying that to be malicious. It was more so the fact that there had been all these things that Karen had been grappling with. So hopefully she was confronting those things head-on,” she explained.
Moving on to Stacey, Ashley said, “We just have a love-hate relationship.”
“I actually do love her for the most part, but there are just certain times that she, like, plucks my nerves. But we can have a good time. We can be turn up girlies together. She definitely knows how to party. We can have a drink or two, and then everything goes out the window, which is actually very similar to how I was with Candiace Dillard-Bassett,” she shared.
But Ashley didn’t have all good things to say about Stacey. In fact, when asked how her co-star was a better housewife, she declared, “She’s a very good liar.”
Looking back at BravoCon, Ashley said Adriana was the one Bravolebrity who rubbed her the wrong way.
“I had a little thing with Adriana because I didn’t like her dress,” she revealed.
Ashley also spoke of her reunion with Candiace, 39, Gizelle Bryant, 55, and Robyn Dixon, 46, for RHUGT in Atlanta.
“There was a lot to unpack … I had my ice pick out and I was ready to get to digging. So I did,” she teased.
Overall, Ashley thought that Karen’s interview was “phenomenal.”
“We want to give Karen her flowers because it’s really hard to be so vulnerable and open with something like that. Especially if you’re Karen … We’ve come a long way,” she noted.
Although the cast previously suggested that Karen could be in denial about her issues, Ashley denied feeling good after hearing her come clean.
“It’s not about it feeling good. It was more so relief for Karen because I think that it has prohibited a lot of us from getting very close to her. She keeps us all at arm’s length. And now that she’s willing to peel back some layers, I think it’s gonna help us have deeper relationships with her that are more, with more depth,” she stated.
Also on the live broadcast, Ashley called out a narrative Angel had painted.
“Angel has said that I was making her husband [Bobby Massie] look like an angry Black man, and I really don’t appreciate that narrative,” she said. “If anything, Bobby got very upset with production and was getting upset with the things that were happening with production, and he would raise his voice at that. And that was what I was talking about. But never once have I said that Bobby was angry or aggressive, and I would like for Angel to stop perpetuating that narrative.”
Later, on the RHOP: After Show, Ashley was asked what she thought of Charrisse Jackson-Jordan‘s interview on Sherri, during which she suggested they couldn’t be friends after Ashley’s encounter with her son, Jackson Jordan, 27.
“I put a button on this with Charrisse as far as I’m concerned with my reunion. I said my piece, and so I’m not really going to be giving it any more energy,” Ashley replied. “I would like to say, however, that I do like that she is on TV again and that she’s doing interviews and people are saying her name.”
“And so for that, she’s welcome,” she concluded.
