Doctor Doom is taking heroes to his home turf! A rumor suggests that Latveria may play a big role in the events of Avengers: Doomsday.
Fans have become content (albeit not happy) with the fact that Avengers: Doomsday will be making some major, MAJOR changes to Doctor Doom as a character. However, if there is one element of the enigmatic villain that fans are praying doesn’t get left on the cutting room floor, it’s Latveria. It’s not just the character’s home country, but it’s a truly integral part of his character and ethos.
Which is why it’s been troubling that the rumor mill has been essentially silent about Latveria. No set pictures showing off Castle Doom, no eastern European countries flown to in order to recreate the aesthetic. Nada, zip, zilch. This has led many to worry that something perhaps more important to Doctor Doom than his armor will just be erased from Avengers: Doomsday.
Is Latveria In Avengers: Doomsday?
Fans finally got their first signs of life from Latveria thanks to a recent rumor by MyTimeToShineHello. The scooper teased that “a lot” of Avengers: Doomsday will take place inside of Doctor Doom’s home country. And while this doesn’t reveal too much about what events may actually take place there, it suggests that there may very well be a siege on Castle Doom.
The fact (or, rather, rumor) that Latveria will be the setting for much of Avengers: Doomsday suggests that fans will be spending quite a lot of time alone in Castle Doom. After all, Doctor Doom doesn’t much invite anyone note named Valeria Richards to his abode, so it’s more likely than not that fans will see fresh insight into the villain and his role in the Multiverse Saga.
