Ashley Darby suggested that she would be acting differently than Dr. Wendy Osefo after the arrest, and she seemingly accused Stacey Rusch and Karen Huger of “colluding with bloggers.” The star also hinted at what wasn’t shown this season on Real Housewives of Potomac.
Shortly after Wendy and her husband, Eddie Osefo, were arrested for allegedly faking a home burglary to get insurance money, Ashley made a joke about Wendy in the “pen,” and she hinted that co-stars were aware of the allegations before the arrest.
On the Morally Corrupt podcast, Ashley shared that she and Wendy are “not as close” as they used to be.
“Because of … your comments after [the arrest]?” asked host Rachel Lindsay, via @thegworlsarefightingg on Instagram.
“Yeah,” said Ashley. “I’m sure that what I said didn’t help the situation, but she’s also just going through a lot. And that is talked about quite a bit at the reunion, like a lot.”
Ashley hinted that she would be acting different, and toning it down, if she were in Wendy’s shoes.
“Yeah, given the subject matter,” said Ashley. “Like what you’re being accused of is literally what you’re theoretically doing right now. … And also like posting about her trips and stuff. … Karen did teach us that you got to sort of be a little more humble when you’re going through this stuff, because it doesn’t really fare well for you in the end.”
In an interview for Scheananigans, Ashley then threw shade at Stacey.
“We’ve had people [in our cast] actually pay bloggers,” she said, via @breakingtherulespodclips on Instagram. “We’ve had people who had bloggers on the payroll. … There was a rumor that it was Stacey when she first came on, that she was colluding with bloggers. There may have been some proof of that.”
“We actually theorized that Karen for a minute was doing it,” she added. “And Karen would get so hot, [saying] ‘I would never! I would never!’ But the signs were pointing to Karen. … She likes to control the narrative, so that’s why we thought [that].”
Back in her interview for Morally Corrupt, Ashley addressed claims that she doesn’t have a storyline.
“I’ve given blood, sweat, and tears to this show,” she said, via @nochaser_tv on Instagram. “And it’s a gripe that I have because I actually did film quite a bit [this season], and I don’t know where it went, but that’s for me to deal with the powers that be. … My life looks very different. … There are different challenges now that I’m taking on.”
