This episode was a really strong episode in my opinion, it really explored so many different emotions but also tying them all in together.

We finally got to see a little bit more of the Vasquez/Violet/Novak triangle unfold even if Vasquez wasn’t even in this episode. I don’t even know if there can even be a good outcome from this triangle no matter who ends up with who, or even if no one ends up with Vasquez. I partially think that Novak could be putting things off with Frost because she is scared of the commitment whether that means she will get back with him or if she will commit to someone else, I guess we will have to wait and see.

I really didn’t like seeing Tony getting hurt, he is such an integral part of the team, so I am very grateful that he is out of the woods. Although I really didn’t like that Pascal was making Cruz leave the hospital, I know that Tony wasn’t critical, but those firefighters always stick together and there is no way if that was Boden that he would be making them leave Tony alone.

The Pascal storyline was a really good storyline, my jaw dropped when we found out that Cranston had died. Pascal’s backstory was finally revealed a little bit and the one tie he may have been able to repair in the city was taken away from him in moment’s notice. I also think they did a very good job of bringing light to what happens to so many firefighters who risk their lives and unfortunately don’t make it back home.

Watching Annabel struggle with her future after the fire was a really hard watch, but I loved how it evolved throughout the episode and how Herrmann was able to put down his own feelings and help her. Plus we always love to see someone else who wants to join Girls on Fire and make a difference, especially when we get to see Herrmann’s scared look.

Overall this was a really great episode and we got to see some new sides to the characters that we haven’t seen before.
