Cheryl Hines Reveals Consequences Of Proximity To Politics

The American actress became a part of Donald Trump’s administration by extension following her husband’s appointment, and she has had to deal with some personal losses following that decision.

Cherly Hines has been vocal about the impact of Robert F. Kennedy Jr’s political career on her physical and mental health, and that has not really changed.

The media personality appeared on Joe Rogan’s podcast, spilling details about how people around her reacted to her husband’s pivoting from an environmental activist to a principal member of Trump’s administration.

Kennedy was appointed as the U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services, and Hines was there to receive her share of the negative reaction that followed that choice. According to her:

“It was interesting to watch people change their attitude about me or [say] I’m not the person they thought I was. [That] type of feeling.”

She insisted that nothing had changed about her personality, and it was strange for her to hear those narratives about her person.

Hines lost some of her Hollywood friends since the appointment, including her “Curb Your Enthusiasm” co-star Larry David and her former “Tig & Cheryl: True Story” cohost Tig Notaro. Both had distanced themselves from Hines due to her affiliation with the president through her husband.

Since his appointment, Kennedy has come under fire, creating a new inverted nutritional pyramid, alongside existing scrutiny for his contrarian views on vaccination for decades now.

Hines continued on the 3-hour-long podcast that she did not see the part where politics would change her life. According to her, she still finds herself struggling to come to terms with the fact that she is married to a divisive politician like Kennedy.

On the controversy trailing the politician’s “Make America Healthy Again” initiative, Hines clarified that her husband is pursuing the mission with good intentions, with zero political undertones, as against popular belief.

The media personality referred to her husband’s past lawsuit involving several corporations in America for polluting the waters and making people sick. “Why would he spend all of his life fighting for people, fighting for individuals, and then suddenly change and want to hurt people? It just doesn’t track,” she declared.

In her new book “Unscripted,” which was released last year, the star went into detail about braving the extremes of fame and personal matters. Hines later revealed in an interview that she indeed experienced a period of intense personal turmoil.

Aside from losing her cousin to cerebral palsy, The Blast noted that she also dealt with allegations from her husband’s alleged former mistress’s ex-fiancé, who claimed Kennedy and Olivia Nuzzi were an item for nearly a year.

The TV personality described how she felt learning about the alleged affair while in Italy on a family vacation. She claimed the insinuations were very overwhelming for her, and she felt like she had hit a wall.

She felt very distant from Kennedy, but in the end, her adoration and love for their kids helped her find the way back to the love they once shared.

The comedian has also moved to Washington, D.C., to be closer to her husband’s place of assignment. America’s first lady weighed in on the move at the world premiere of her documentary “Melania” during her interview with Fox News.

As noted by Hungama Express, Melania advised Kennedy and Hines to enjoy their relocation from Hollywood to D.C. She described their new life as an incredible one, which is very demanding, but enjoyable, if they allow it.

Melania added that the years go by so fast, and it is important to make the most out of these fleeting moments. Kennedy, who also attended the premiere, revealed that his relocation to D.C. showed him a different side to Melania than what the media portrayed.

He stated that she played a huge role in making him and Hines feel very comfortable since their arrival, and has also offered behind-the-scenes support for his mission since resuming office.

It has definitely been a wild ride for the 60-year-old these past months. Last year, she shared an encounter she had with Trump three days after his July assassination attempt that left her with a health scare.

According to Fox News, Hines noted that seeing the president with a bandage on his ear reminded her of how much of a close shave he had with a bigger incident, and her husband, who was out campaigning with him, may also be affected.

The stress of the whole situation and the timing of her RFK Jr.’s decision to step down from the race and endorse Trump all culminated in a health disaster for the actress.

Hines added that while Trump and her husband connected via their shared goals, the stress of it all had her rushing to urgent care out of fear that her swelling lips might degenerate into something worse for other parts of her body.
