Boz Saint John slammed Amanda Frances’ onscreen claim that “disagreement” doesn’t require “conflict,” and she addressed the idea that Boz “risked [her] corporate reputation” to join Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. She also hinted at upcoming drama in the season.
In a recent episode, Amanda (amid her argument with Dorit Kemsley) alleged that people can disagree without “conflict.” Boz and Erika Jayne then disagreed, but Amanda kept her stance. In a confessional, Boz suggested that Amanda was just trying to exert control.
In an Instagram video, Boz addressed Amanda’s claim.
“So a lot of feathers are ruffled,” said Boz. “And I’m here to talk about it. … When it was announced that I was joining the show, people had a lot of opinions. Some were like, why would you risk your storied corporate reputation to go on TV and fight with women? And I was like, wait, hold on. Is that what we’re doing? Because I don’t think so.”
“The truth of the matter is that this time of life is so complicated. It comes with its own drama, okay? Women in their 40s and 50s are dealing with … careers that maybe need a pivot or maybe need reinvention, long relationships that maybe are coming to an end or need another spark, and a myriad of things, including hormones that are out of whack,” she continued. “So the question that has come up is whether or not disagreement needs conflict.”
According to Boz, “disagreement is conflict.”
“It is inherently conflict, because when you have two different opinions, they are conflicting opinions,” she said. “And it’s not whether or not conflict is necessary, because it is. … We’re all human. But whether or not you know how to solve it, that is the question at hand. So this all started with this particular conversation that we had at the table.”
She then showed a clip of Amanda’s argument.
“Can friends have disagreements that don’t have conflict?” Boz later asked her followers. “Does conflict mean chaos? Do you know how to resolve your conflicts? Have you lost friends because of conflict? By the way, if you haven’t seen the mid-season trailer for Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, go watch that. Because the first half was building up to everything that’s coming. And lord, it is a lot of conflict going on.”
In her hashtags, Boz wrote, “Wait what show is this,” and, “Oh yeah, the one about conflict.”
