Ashley Darby shared her secret motivation for revealing her hookup with Charrisse Jackson-Jordan’s son Jackson – and hinted at her run-in with Candiace Dillard-Bassett on Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip.
Recently, the Real Housewives of Potomac star said she hooked up with her good friend’s son – seemingly showing a little remorse at the time. Charrisse then shaded her in the press. Soon after, Ashley’s ex-costar Candiace said the hookup was a reflection of how Ashley was raised.
On What’s The Reality, Ashley claimed she had a secret motive for revealing the hookup with Jackson.
“It’s been sitting on me for two years now. And you know, I want Charrisse back on the show,” she said, via @thebravoshadroom on Instagram. “I almost told her ten times, right? And I was going to take it to my grave … because Jackson was like, ‘You know, I keep my love life private from my mom.’ And I was like, but that’s also my friend.”
Ashley claimed that Charrisse gave “her blessing” over the romance – because she once jokingly asked Ashley to be her “daughter-in-law.”
“And so I was like, ‘Hey girl, like this could be your chance [to] get you back on the show,” said Ashley. “[Jackson and I now] don’t speak. After Potomac and Ponies, he wanted to hang out, but yeah, I put a stop to that. … I’ve learned my lesson. I mean, I do feel bad about it, honestly, because if Charrisse genuinely feels the way she does, I am remorseful. I don’t like the way she’s going about it. And that is where I’m losing respect for her. But if she’s genuinely upset, I can acknowledge that I crossed a line, and we can deal with it. But if you’re going to keep defaming me and saying all this stuff and talking bad about my character, then we have another problem.”
Later on, Ashley reacted to Candiace’s comments about how she was raised.
“I addressed that with [Candiace] on [RHUGT],” said Ashley, via @thegworlsarefighting on Instagram. “I don’t understand why she insists on talking about me, period. Do you know how much I talk about her? None. Absolutely none. And if I’m asked about her, I just pass on it. I don’t know why she feels like it’s necessary to delve in on me and she hasn’t been here for what, two years now? You don’t go here anymore.”
“We did [talk about it on RHUGT],” she added. “It was very reminiscent of what we used to do. Just like old times. … We had that moment, and then I saw pictures of her baby right after. … That’s what I like about her, is we can like go back and forth but then like we can still hug it out.”
