If you grew up singing the Ninja Rap song and arguing about which Turtle was the coolest, get ready for a serious nostalgia hit. A true fan-favorite is heading back to theaters, and this time it’s getting the big screen treatment it deserves.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze is officially being re-released in theaters this spring to celebrate its 35th anniversary, complete with a shiny new 4K presentation and some bonus material that longtime fans are going to love.

Originally released in 1991, the sequel was directed by Michael Pressman and followed up the massive success of 1990’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The film featured the voices of Robbie Rist as Michelangelo, Adam Carl as Donatello, Brian Tochi as Leonardo, and Laurie Faso as Raphael, bringing playful energy that leaned hard into the cartoon vibe many fans adored.

Now, thanks to Fathom Entertainment, Saga Arts, and Warner Bros. Pictures, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze is returning to theaters nationwide in 4K from March 13 through March 19, 2026.

An announcement trailer has dropped that you can watch below, and it’s a straight shot of nostalgia that reminds you why this sequel has remained such a beloved entry in the franchise.

The official description reads: “Back by bodacious demand! Leonardo, Donatello, Michaelangelo and Raphael return for their most thrilling adventure yet. This time, the evil Shredder has learned the secret of the ooze, the force behind the Turtles’ mutation and amazing fighting abilities.

“Now more dangerous than ever, Shredder is determined to destroy the Turtles, bringing along new villains Tokka and Rahzar for a battle to the end.”

As if seeing the Turtles battle Shredder, Tokka, and Rahzar on the big screen again wasn’t enough, the anniversary event also includes a brand-new featurette titled The Ninja Turtles: Revolutions.

This never-before-seen piece gives fans a rare look into the creative mind of TMNT co-creator Kevin Eastman. According to the press release, the featurette allows viewers to “step into the mind of TMNT co-creator Kevin Eastman, joining him on a vision through the past.”

It goes on to add, “Sit down alongside the icon at his personal drawing desk while he illustrates through the revolving history and mythos of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles legend.”

This re-release follows the successful theatrical return of the first live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film last year, which pulled in around $3.7 million domestically during its anniversary run. That turnout made it clear there’s still a massive audience eager to revisit these movies the way they were meant to be seen.

If you missed this one in theaters the first time around, or you just want to relive it with a crowd of fellow Turtle fans, this is your chance. Tickets for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze will be available through participating theaters, and this is one shell-shocking event that’s absolutely worth the trip back to the cinema.
