Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem 2 has a new release date that fans will love.
When is the new TMNT: Mutant Mayhem 2 release date?
Rather than being delayed, Paramount and Point Grey’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem 2 has had its release date moved up. The animated sequel will now be released on August 13, 2027, rather than the previously planned date of September 17, 2027. That’s a stronger release date for its target audience, as kids and families won’t be as occupied.
The sequel will once again be directed by Jeff Rowe. However, this time, he will be joined by co-directors Yashar Kassai and Kyle Spears. The voice cast will feature returning cast members Micah Abbey as Donatello, Shamon Brown Jr. as Michelangelo, Nicolas Cantu as Leonardo, Brady Noon as Raphael, and Ayo Edebiri as April O’Neil.
Previously, Rowe said that the second film in the series would focus on Shredder, although plot details aren’t yet confirmed.
“That is exactly what I am trying to figure out and what my next meeting will be about. That is what we are in the thick of now,” said Rowe of the sequel. “Shredder is just a great character. He’s an iconic, classic, loved character. He’s like the Joker. You know who he is, even if you’re not a fan of the source material. I think we definitely wanna do a villain-forward film. We’re currently trying to make decisions about that, but those decisions for us as filmmakers are always going to come from the place of what tells the best story, specifically about our main characters, the Turtles.”
“After years of being sheltered from the human world, the Turtle brothers set out to win the hearts of New Yorkers and be accepted as normal teenagers through heroic acts,” reads the official synopsis for the first film. “Their new friend April O’Neil helps them take on a notorious crime syndicate, but they soon get in over their heads when an army of mutants is unleashed upon them.”
