Is the Scarlet Witch finally getting her own film? A rumor teases that Marvel’s Kevin Feige may be saving one specific villain for her solo movie.
One of the biggest questions in the MCU’s recent history was why certain characters got their own projects. From the controversial like the Eternals to the beloved like Agatha All Along, the general attitude has been “why them and why now?” But there is one character who stands above as being asked “why NOT them right now!?” Which is, of course, the Scarlet Witch.
Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch has become a mainstay of the MCU in recent years. The meteoric rise of Wandavision made her a preeminent face of the Multiverse Saga. And, despite being dead for multiple years at this point, fans have been begging for Olsen to return as the character for the next two Avengers films.
Is The Scarlet Witch Getting A Solo Movie?
Yet it’s in her death that fans may find her future. MyTimeToShineHello recently posted a massive rumor about the scrapped elements of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. In it, the scooper remarks that Chthon – the creator of the Darkhold – was originally set to play a large role in the film. However, they were held back for a potential Scarlet Witch solo movie.
“At one point Chthon was also set to play a significant role in the film, but [Kevin] Feige wanted to save that for later possibly for a Scarlet Witch solo movie.”
While it may seem odd that Chthon was held back for a movie that hasn’t materialized yet, one must keep in mind that the MCU has been in a tailspin for the last few years. It’s likely that Kevin Feige wants to make it to the Multiverse Saga before greenlighting a Scarlet Witch project, especially as Elizabeth Olsen’s character is likely to go through major transformations in the next few films.
