A maintenance worker in Kent, Washington, was reportedly attacked by a man and a woman after asking them to clean up dog feces left in a public area. The incident happened at an apartment building next to Kent Memorial Park. Witnesses contacted 911 to report the assault.
According to KIRO 7, authorities later learned that the 35-year-old victim worked as a maintenance employee at the complex. The worker allegedly asked a 50-year-old man to pick up after his dog, which had defecated in a shared public space. Instead of complying, the man reportedly told the worker to pick it up himself.
Alleged Assault Inside the Apartment
After the exchange, the maintenance worker reportedly noted which apartment the dog owner entered and informed the front desk about the situation. However, according to police, the dog owner then grabbed the worker, dragged him into the apartment, and began assaulting him. Inside the unit, a 49-year-old woman allegedly joined the attack.
Authorities say she took the victim’s phone, kicked him in the face, and placed her foot over his face to prevent him from yelling. A responding officer reported hearing yelling from inside the apartment. When police entered, they allegedly found the victim pinned to the ground by the male suspect.
Arrests and Animal Control Response
Both suspects were arrested on Sunday and booked into King County Jail.
Police also discovered two dogs locked in a bathroom inside the apartment. The animals were transferred to animal control following the arrests.
The victim’s current condition has not been detailed publicly. However, based on the allegations, the incident involved physical assault and restraint.
