The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City cast has begun filming its upcoming seventh season without Mary Cosby.
After production was postponed last week following the death of Mary’s son, Robert Cosby Jr., on Monday, February 23, a new report has revealed that the rest of the cast, including Lisa Barlow, 51, Heather Gay, 51, Meredith Marks, 54, Whitney Rose, 39, Angie Katsanevas, 52, Bronwyn Newport, 40, and Britani Bateman, 54, has gone into filming on the new episodes.
The Hollywood Reporter shared the news with readers on March 4, noting that producers would be following in Mary’s lead when it came to how much or how little she would film.
As RHOSLC fans will recall, news of Robert Jr.’s death was shared on Wednesday as authorities in Salt Lake City, Utah, confirmed that responders had been dispatched after receiving an overdose call. Upon arrival, they determined that Robert had died.
Following the tragic passing, Mary took to her Instagram page, where she offered a statement to her fans and followers.
“Our beloved son Robert Jr. has been called home to the Lord. Though our hearts ache, we take comfort in God’s promise and in knowing he is finally at peace. We are grateful for your prayers and trust in the Lord to carry us through this time of sorrow,” she shared.
Days later, Mary posted another tribute to Robert Jr.
“I’m going to miss you bubs,” she wrote in the caption of a photo of the two of them, sparking tons of support from her audience and RHOSLC castmates, who have reportedly put their differences aside in an effort to be there for her.
Before Robert Jr.’s passing, Mary told The Hollywood Reporter that the reaction to the raw footage she shared of herself and Robert Jr. on the show, specifically pertaining to his addiction struggles, had been “mind-blowing.”
“People responded good. That’s a silent epidemic. It’s a problem in our world, not just our country. It’s real, it’s happening. We’re not the only ones facing it. My son and I didn’t even plan [to talk about that on camera]. To be able to get that reaction and feedback from people is mind-blowing. It’s humbling. It feels good. I’m glad I did it. I wouldn’t change anything,” she declared.
