The Reagans are a close bunch as seen on Blue Bloods, but that doesn’t mean every character will crossover to Boston Blue — at least on season 1.
Boston Blue showrunners previously teased that fans will see “members of the Reagan family we have not yet seen” before season’s end, but does that include Danny Reagan’s (Donnie Wahlberg) brother Jamie Reagan (Will Estes), his wife, Eddie Janko (Vanessa Ray), and their new baby?
“There is a non-zero percent chance we will see the baby in Season 1 of Boston Blue,” cocreator Brandon Margolis told TV Insider in an interview published on Wednesday, March 4.
A non-zero percent chance by definition means that mathematically it’s possible but highly unlikely.
Margolis teased that he “cannot confirm or deny” that if the baby does show up on Boston Blue that both parents would be with them.
During the final season of Blue Bloods, which came to an end in December 2024, Jamie and Eddie revealed they were expecting their first baby. (The couple started as police partners before falling in love and getting married.)

Fans, however, have not met the little one but there is still plenty of time for the trio to pop up on the spinoff now that it’s been renewed for a second season.
“What I will say is that because the audiences showed up and the network was generous enough to give us a second season, there’s going to be more opportunities for Reagans for a whole other season, and it’s something we want to continue to pursue on the show,” Margolis explained.
He added: “Obviously, there were a lot of them, but the invitations are extended, and we are just looking for the right stories to bring them into Danny and Sean’s world. That’s kind of all I can say at the moment without spoiling too much.”
Along with Danny, a detective for the NYPD, and Jamie, a police officer for the city, the Blue Bloods cast and family was made up of their father, NYPD Commissioner Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck), and their sister, ADA Erin Reagan (Bridget Moynahan).
The Reagans’ patriarch, grandpa and former commissioner Henry Reagan (Len Cariou), Erin’s daughter, Nicky (Sami Gayle), and Danny’s two sons, Sean (Andrew Terraciano) and Jack (Tony Terraciano), were also heavily featured on the show’s 14 seasons.
In fall 2025, Boston Blue premiered, following Danny’s journey from New York to Boston where his youngest son, Sean (now played by Mika Amonsen), had become a cop. After Sean is injured in a fire, Danny moves to Boston to help him recover and finds himself assisting Sean’s partner, Jonah Silver’s (Marcus Scribner) family with solving crime in Beantown.
The Silvers, like the Reagans, are well-known within the first responder and policing community.
Throughout season 1, viewers have been treated to cameos from Moynahan, reprising her role as Erin, and Marisa Ramirez, who was Danny’s NYPD partner and now girlfriend, Maria Baez.
Cariou, 86, is set to make his spinoff debut during an April episode as Henry a.k.a Pop.
Boston Blue airs on CBS Fridays at 10 p.m. ET.
