Marvel Studios has dropped a cool new 30-second TV spot for Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, and it’s loaded with fresh footage and some exciting character moments.
The footage teases the next chapter of the fight for Hell’s Kitchen as Matt Murdock prepares to push back against Mayor Wilson Fisk’s growing control over New York City. The city on the edge, with allies gathering and the streets filling with resistance as Daredevil’s battle with the Kingpin escalates.
One of the standout shots in the TV spot shows Daredevil standing shoulder-to-shoulder with a group of familiar faces. Matt is joined by Jessica Jones, Karen Page, White Tiger, Cherry, and a crowd of New Yorkers wearing homemade Daredevil masks.
The image feels like a rallying cry for the city and seems to pull inspiration from Chip Zdarsky’s Daredevil comic run that eventually led into Devil’s Reign.
It’s also the closest thing we’ve seen to a Defenders reunion in the MCU so far, though two key members are missing. Luke Cage and Iron Fist don’t appear in the footage. Cage is expected to either pop up in Season 2 or be referenced ahead of a potential return in Season 3, while Danny Rand’s future in the MCU is still up in the air.
The moment that’s really going to get fans talking comes with a brief appearance from Toby Leonard Moore as James Wesley. Fisk’s former right-hand man is briefly seen sitting in a car with the Kingpin. The character died back in Season 1 of the Netflix series after Karen Page shot him, so the appearance is likely part of a flashback.
Of course, some fans might start wondering if there’s something stranger going on, especially with The Hand existing in this corner of the Marvel world. If you watch closely, you’ll also catch a glimpse of Royce Johnson returning as Brett Mahoney.
Marvel has also officially released the new Kingpin poster that was recently spotted around New York City, adding to the sense that Fisk’s power over the city has reached a dangerous level.
The official synopsis reads: “In Daredevil: Born Again, survival, resistance and redemption collide as the battle for the soul of New York begins. In Season 2, Mayor Wilson Fisk crushes New York City underfoot as he hunts down public enemy number one, the Hell’s Kitchen vigilante known as Daredevil.
But beneath the horned mask, Matt Murdock will try to fight back from the shadows to tear down the Kingpin’s corrupt empire and redeem his home. Resist. Rebel. Rebuild.”
Created by Dario Scardapane, Chris Ord, and Matt Corman, the series stars Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil and Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk.
Returning cast members include Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Ayelet Zurer as Vanessa Fisk, Wilson Bethel as Benjamin Poindexter/Bullseye, and Margarita Levieva as Heather Glenn. Season 2 also welcomes back Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones and introduces Matthew Lillard as the mysterious Mr. Charles.
Daredevil: Born Again returns to Disney+ on March 24.
