Yesterday, Los Angeles’ Fairmont Century Plaza was illuminated with the guests and honorees at ESSENCE 19th Annual Black Women in Hollywood Awards. While the blue carpet turned into a conversation about reclaiming the film and television industry, inside the awards, an exclusive gift bag full of fresh beauty launches was left under the seats of each celebrity.
The sillage of fragrance—like Mugler’s Alien Pulp, Alloy Studio’s Luster, and MCM’s Daring Dragon—spilled out of the custom Sarep + Rose tote bag in which they were housed. But, that wasn’t all they were smelling. A Nourishing Body Oil from Brown Sugar Babe and a Sage Water Oil Body Cleanser are the perfect base to layer the fragrances over. While fragrances often double as our hair perfume (whether they were formulated to or not), Camille Rose’s Guava Slip Mousse worked even better.
You can never go wrong with L’Oreal’s Collagen Serum, but what’s on the inside counts too. In this case, keeping up with your D3 and K2 vitamin intake (especially since Black women tend to be vitamin D deficient) is easy via WellWithAll’s Better Daily. And, for something more luxurious, a fine jewelry gift card to Bernard James and Christopher John Rodgers sweater proved just how important Black fashion is to our favorite Black women in Hollywood.
Below, take a peek at what we gifted our guests and honorees at this year’s Black Women in Hollywood Awards.
