Moments after the 2026 Oscars broadcast ended, singer and actress Teyana Taylor was involved in a heated exchange with a security guard inside the Dolby Theatre.
According to sources who spoke with TMZ, the confrontation began as Taylor attempted to return to the stage following the ceremony. The moment reportedly occurred seconds after the show wrapped, while attendees and cast members were still moving around backstage.
Taylor had been trying to head back onstage for the Best Picture photo with her “One Battle After Another” co-stars. However, the situation escalated when a security guard allegedly blocked her path while she was attempting to access the stage area.
The moment quickly drew attention from nearby attendees who witnessed the exchange. Video recorded inside the theater later circulated online, capturing part of the interaction between Taylor and the security guard.

Sources with direct knowledge say the confrontation began when Taylor tried to head back onstage alongside Pam Abdi, who serves as co-head of Warner Bros..
At that time, the ceremony had just ended and many cast members were reportedly gathering for a Best Picture group photo. Taylor’s film, One Battle After Another, had been involved in the moment, and she was attempting to rejoin her colleagues.
However, according to sources, a security guard positioned near the stage stairs attempted to stop Taylor and Abdi from going up the steps.The guard allegedly used his body to block their path. Sources also claim he placed his hands on Taylor in an effort to physically prevent her from moving past him and accessing the stage.As the exchange unfolded, video captured Taylor addressing the guard directly. In the footage, Taylor can be heard telling him not to put his hands on a woman.
At one point during the confrontation, she said: “He literally shoved me.”
The video also captured Taylor saying the interaction was inappropriate and rude.The situation reportedly became tense for a brief moment as the guard continued trying to control access to the stage area. Security teams at large events such as the Academy Awards often manage crowd movement carefully during transitions after the broadcast ends.
According to sources, the guard at one point asked Taylor to apologize during the exchange.
