After four seasons of global chaos, political intrigue, and watching Jack Ryan get pulled further and further away from his desk job, Prime Video is ready to level things up.
But, instead of another season, the story is continuing with a full-on movie. The first trailer for Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan: Ghost War has landed, giving fans their first look at John Krasinski stepping back into the role. This isn’t playing like a small extension of the series either. It feels bigger, sharper, and way more intense.
The film is set to hit Prime Video on May 20, 2026, and it’s already shaping up to be a must-watch for fans of the franchise. Clocking in at 105 minutes and carrying an R-rating for violence and language, this one looks like it’s leaning harder into the action than anything we’ve seen before.
Krasinski isn’t going in alone. Wendell Pierce returns as James Greer, and Michael Kelly is back as Mike November, rounding out a trio that’s been through just about everything together.
This time, they’re joined by Sienna Miller, who steps into the story as a key new player, alongside Max Beesley, Douglas Hodge, J.J. Feild, and Betty Gabriel. The film is directed by Andrew Bernstein, with a script from Aaron Rabin, both of whom already know this world well.
In this new film, “Jack Ryan is reluctantly thrust back into the world of espionage when an international covert mission unravels a deadly conspiracy, forcing him to confront a rogue black-ops unit, and the clock is ticking.
“Operating in real time with lives on the line and the threat escalating at every turn, Jack reunites with battle-tested CIA operative Mike November (Kelly) and former CIA boss James Greer (Pierce), their combined experience the only edge they have against an enemy who knows their every move.
“Backed by an unlikely new partner – razor-sharp MI6 officer Emma Marlowe (Miller) – Jack and the team navigate a treacherous web of betrayal, facing a past they thought was long put to rest – making this the most personal, high-stakes mission any of them have ever faced.”
The “real-time” angle adds a ticking-clock intensity, and the idea of an enemy that’s always one step ahead puts Ryan and his team in a dangerous position right out of the gate.
If the trailer is any indication, Ghost War is pushing the franchise into bigger, more cinematic territory while keeping the grounded tension that made the series work in the first place. It looks slick, intense, and just the right amount of brutal.
Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan: Ghost War premieres on Prime Video on May 20, 2026. This looks like it will be the most explosive chapter yet.
