Lionsgate has dropped the full trailer for Beast, a savage new MMA action film that looks ready to throw audiences straight into the cage.
Directed by Tyler Atkins, the movie leans hard into grit, family stakes, and bone-crunching fights, with Daniel MacPherson leading the charge as a fighter pulled back into a life he tried to leave behind.
The story centers on a former MMA champion who walked away from the sport and built a quieter life as a fisherman. That peace doesn’t last.
When his younger brother’s life is threatened, he’s forced to step back into the cage for one last run. It’s not about glory this time. It’s survival, family, and proving he still has something left in him.
The synopsis reads: “‘Legends are made in the cage.’ After years away from the cage, a once-feared MMA champion (starring Daniel MacPherson) is pulled back in for the fight of his life when his younger brother is put in danger.
“Reuniting with the trainer (Russell Crowe) who once made him a legend, he commits to one final showdown against the reigning title-holder — a brutal fighter determined to dismantle the ex-champ’s legacy in front of the world. Pushed to his breaking point, the contender’s stakes are simple: win, or lose everything he’s built.
The trailer makes it clear this one isn’t pulling punches. The fights look raw and punishing, with a tone that feels closer to Warrior than a glossy sports drama.
There’s a heavy emotional thread running through it as well, with the relationship between the brothers driving everything forward. It’s that mix of heart and violence that could give this story some real weight if it lands right.
MacPherson is joined by a solid lineup that includes Luke Hemsworth, Bren Foster, Amy Shark, Mojean Aria, Kelly Gale, and Russell Crowe, who also co-wrote the screenplay alongside David Frigerio. Crowe stepping in as the trainer adds a cool layer to the film, especially with his involvement behind the scenes shaping the story.
Beast is set to hit theaters on April 10, 2026, and it might be a brutal ride worth stepping into the cage for.
