Tiffany Render — the mother of former NBA star Dwight Howard’s daughter Layla Howard, 15 — is breaking her silence and accusing her child’s father of manipulating the public, trying to silence their child, plus more. Subsequently, Layla has now told the courts that she feels “unsafe” with her father and “wants to live with her mother.”

As we previously shared, on March 7, Howard’s wife, Amy Luciani, real name Amber Rose, posted a 5-minute video to Instagram. In it, she broke down in tears as she admitted she normally doesn’t bring her personal life to the public.
However, out of fear and wanting to protect herself and stepchildren, she decided to expose her husband’s alleged abusive behavior. She accused him of abusing drugs and things getting so heavy in the home that she had to cll the police on him three times within three months.

Ultimately, Luciani said all of the family drama with cops resulted in Child Protective Services (CPS) taking Howard’s 15-year-old daughter, Layla. Royce Reed, the mother of Howard’s 18-year-old son Braylon Howard, spoke out, feeling vindicated after previously exposing her ex in about 5 1-hour long Instagram Lives back in December 2024.
While Howard kept up appearances and remained performative online and in public, Reed continue dragging him and he eventually denied abusing any drugs. He later filed for divorce from Luciani after allegedly locking her out of their Greater Atlanta mansion. Days later, Tiffany Render, the mother of Howard’s daughter picked up by CPS, is calling him out.

Tiffany Render Slams Dwight Howard For Allegedly Manipulating The Public After Daughter Layla, 15, Is Taken By CPS; Dwight’s Ex Royce Reed Also Chimes In
On Thursday (March1 19), Render took to her Instagram with a lengthy caption, dragging Howard. She wrote:
“3/18/26 | went to have lunch with my daughter as the last few weeks have been extremely exhausting for a 15yr old girl who simply wants to feel safe, heard, and close to her mother..The photo was taken by a faculty member at the new school my daughter just started attending which is conveniently where Dwight attended from pre-k – 12th grade. This strategic move to out of nowhere enroll my baby in the exact school that her Father graduated from was another attempt to silence her. When my daughter found the courage to speak up about her emotional distress, sadness, loneliness, and feeling neglected to her school counselors and coaches at her original high school, instead of being supported, her father immediately ripped her out of school & changed her phone number. She then spoke up to her sport coaches and was immediately removed from her volleyball & basketball team by her father. Her cell phone was taken away weeks ago in attempt to disconnect her communication..When a child cries out for help, they deserve to be protected, not dismissed & hidden. What lead to the unfortunate situation on 3/5/26 was not random..it was the result of a child reaching her breaking point. I now know that this photo was calculated to give a false and fake happy family narrative..l have been silent for years. stayed out of the blogs and away from the noise. Not because I didn’t have something to say, but because I was focused on protecting my child…Made out to be a liar when all I ever was is a mom that knew her daughter was in danger.But, today I say this.. My daughter spoke up. My daughter cried out for help. She stood in her truth. Backed by a signed affidavit where Layla said herself, she feels unsafe & wants to live with her Mother. Money and connections has gotten a lot of things swept under the rug but, my daughter is not a thing, she’s a 15yr old with feelings, not a basketball game that you just want to win..Baby girl mommy will always fight for your voice to be heard. Thank you amylucianiworld for her cries inside that house of horrors and not turn a blind eye. I’m not to proud to say I need help. I don’t know where to turn. Please send resources or referrals.”
In the swipes, Render shared a photo that Howard previously shared on his Instagram Story. It featured, him, her, and their daughter Layla at her new school. Render also included a signed and notarized affidavit of Layla telling Georgia’s Superior Court of Gwinnett County that she would like to live with her mother.
Royce Reed also commented on Render’s post, stating, “We love yall and we have your back always!!! I TALK BAAAAAACK!!!!!” She also reposted Render’s post in her Instagram Story. Over the photo of Howard, Render, and Layla at her new school, Reed said:
“So, let’s talk about this picture he posted on his Story yesterday to attempt a narrative change as if he’s not the problem… [Tiffany Render] needs your support more than ever! To force this photo so he could post it with ‘family first’ is crazy! See how calculated he is?”
