The backlash traces back to resurfaced pre-show footage involving Nic Vansteenberghe. In the clip, he was reportedly with a group of friends when one person (debated as Nic himself) used the N-word.
Some fans expected public responses from cast members, including Amaya. While she did unfollow Huda Mustafa, who laughed when someone used the slur against Olandria Carthen, she hasn’t addressed the Nic situation.

Apparently, unfollowing Huda Mustafa caused all hell to break loose. Before that, only a handful of critics showed up in her comments. On her February 13 post specifically, supporters flooded the comments with compliments such as “Barbie,” “Pretty princess,” and “Bratz doll.”
