Roots Picnic is entering a new chapter in 2026. The Philadelphia festival has officially unveiled its full lineup, building on earlier news that Jay-Z will headline opening night alongside The Roots. Now, with the complete roster in place, Erykah Badu has been confirmed as the second headliner, closing out the weekend on May 31.
This year’s event will take place at Belmont Plateau in Fairmount Park, marking a shift from its previous home and signaling a fresh start for the long-running festival. The move also comes with one of its most anticipated moments yet, as Jay-Z returns to the stage for his first full performance since appearing alongside Beyoncé during her Cowboy Carter Tour last year.
Beyond the headliners, the lineup reflects the festival’s wide reach across genres and generations. Kehlani, Brandy, and T.I. are among the top-billed performers, joined by artists including Mariah the Scientist, De La Soul, and Corinne Bailey Rae. Additional sets from Bilal, Destin Conrad, and Sasha Keable help round out the weekend.
Special programming will also play a major role in this year’s experience. A live mixtape set curated by J. Period featuring Wale and Black Thought is set to draw attention, while DJ Jazzy Jeff returns with his Magnificent Block Party. A tribute to the Waiting to Exhale soundtrack, led by Adam Blackstone, will feature performances from Yolanda Adams, Ledisi, Tamar Braxton, and Andra Day.
Roots Picnic 2026 is scheduled for May 30 and 31. Tickets are on sale now.
