After Reality Blurb exclusively reported that The Real Housewives of Miami was paused, an insider shared details that contributed to Bravo’s decision to shelve the show for now.

They pointed out that a major bone of contention the network had with the show was Todd Nepola‘s lawsuit.

As was reported in October 2025, Todd filed an $11 million defamation lawsuit against NBCUniversal and Bravo, accusing them of “lies, bullying, and behind-the-scenes extortion tactics.”

According to court documents obtained by TMZ at the time, Todd said that while he’d never bounced a check, missed a payment, or struggled financially, multiple episodes of RHOM were made to make him appear broke and facing hardships in business in an attempt to make the show more “juicy.”

Regarding what this had to do with RHOM being paused, an insider exclusively dished that once “Todd fired off his lawsuit, things were obviously tense, but at least Alexia wasn’t with him.”

“Once she got back with Todd, Bravo had choices to make,” they continued. “They clearly couldn’t film with someone who had an active lawsuit against the network, and, while he may not have filmed, it would seem sort of like a conflict of interest to film with her IF he was suing.”

Todd ended up dropping the lawsuit, but the source insisted there were still “not the warmest sentiments” there and that this was “definitely a factor in RHOM being put on pause.”

“Another issue was the cast and the tensions between them,” they continued. “Obviously, Todd pulling the trigger to sue angered a lot of the other cast members, as it put them in an awkward spot with Alexia.”

RHOM was also attempting to bring in some new cast members, which the insider claimed were “not working out” which left the network in a spot where they “couldn’t figure out ultimately what to do.”

“At the end of the day, this is a true shame, as the last reunion was clearly one of the most iconic there ever was,” they concluded. “EVERYONE was discussing the Haitian mortician line Adriana used for WEEKS, and the fans are up in arms about the show not coming back right now.”

“Hopefully this truly will be a PAUSE and NOT a cancellation and Bravo will see the light, ‘feel the heat,’ and bring the women back,” they added.

As Reality Blurb reported on March 18, a source shared that “there is some chatter amongst those in the know that RHOM is going to be canceled,” and that there was “trouble with casting.”

“Some of the issues have to do with Alexia due to Todd’s lawsuit and how Todd won’t be on the show,” they continued. “Without Todd, her story would be more or less dead, and that would have an effect on the entire franchise.”

Another insider revealed the network was “calling it a pause,” but it’s “going to be a very long pause, which many are interpreting to mean the show is canceled.”

They went on to note the show was “originally going to let go of four of the women and get four new girls, but at this time, they’ve decided not to reboot it and let it sit.”

As for why the fan-favorite franchise may be struggling, the first insider explained that they believe there are issues with the production company behind it.

“They really don’t understand Miami,” they shared. “They never have.”

They divulged producers allegedly “have their favorites,” which they “get too personally involved” with, which makes “casting decisions” that the show “desperately needs” hard.

“If they’re told that so and so is the queen of Miami, they just take it at face value,” they elaborated. “There is no due diligence, and it’s usually wrong information.”

They also shared their belief that Miami is “much bigger than the microcosm of weirdos they have on that show.”

“The only ones who are truly representative of Miami are Alexia, Lisa Hochstein, and perhaps Stephanie Shojaee,” they said.
