HBO is taking viewers behind-the-scenes of the making of the upcoming Harry Potter series. Finding Harry: The Craft Behind The Magic special will debut Sunday, April 5 at 8 pm in the UK/3 pm ET/12 pm PT in the U.S. on HBO Max. It will also air on HBO in the U.S. at 8 pm ET/PT that evening, as well as in other select global markets. You can watch the trailer above.
Narrated by Nick Frost, the special features interviews with members of the casting, production design, costume design, and creature effects teams, along with appearances from key cast members including John Lithgow, Janet McTeer, and Paapa Essiedu.
The trailer for Season 1 of Harry Potter and the Philospher’s Stone got 277 million organic (non-paid) views across platforms in its first 48 hours, becoming the most-watched trailer in HBO and HBO Max history, surpassing the previous record by more than double.
Based on JK Rowling’s fantasy book series, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone stars Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley. It is set to debut Christmas Day on HBO and stream on HBO Max.
The series follows Harry Potter, who, on his 11th birthday receives a letter of admission to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, opening up a hidden world for him: one of fun, friendship, and magic. But with this new adventure comes great risk as Harry is forced to face a dangerous enemy from his past.
Lithgow also stars as Albus Dumbledore, McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Essiedu as Severus Snape, Frost as Rubeus Hagrid, Rory Wilmot as Neville Longbottom and Lox Pratt as Draco Malfoy.
