High school is long over, but the friendship between Laguna Beach’s Talan Torriero and Kristin Cavallari may never end.
“Kristen and I, over the last, I would say, five years, have developed such a great relationship. I consider her one of my closest friends,” Talan, 39, exclusively shared with Us Weekly ahead of The Roku Channel’s The Reunion: Laguna Beach. “I call her for business advice. I call her for personal advice.”
And sometimes they even talk about dating.
As Talan continues raising three kids with his wife, Danielle Torriero, the former MTV reality star can’t help but root for Kristin, 39, as she continues her search for a forever person.
“She obviously has a very high standard, and she has a very long, long list for what she looks for in a guy,” Talan said. “[But] she’s a catch, right? I mean, she’s successful. She’s beautiful. She’s got a great relationship with her kids. She’s just got it going on. So I understand why her list is so long.”
In The Reunion: Laguna Beach, Kristin will shine a light on her reality 20 years after graduating from Laguna Beach High School.
As she continues raising Camden, 13, Jaxon, 11, and Saylor, 10, with ex-husband Jay Cutler, Kristin finds herself single and waiting for her perfect guy.
“She deserves it,” Talan shared with Us. “She deserves to find that guy, and I know she will. It’s around the corner.”

In a separate interview with Us, Kristin said dating has not been a “priority” for her in the last year or so.
“Honestly, even if I met Mr. Right today, I don’t know how he would fit into my life at the moment,” the Uncommon James founder shared. “My kids are really busy with sports. It is full on, and then obviously work is at 110 right now.”
Relationships aside, Talan still can’t believe how loyal fans are when it comes to Laguna Beach.
More than two decades after cameras captured a group of friends living in the real Orange County, Talan confessed that he almost wasn’t part of the show.
“MTV showed up at our school. They asked everyone to fill out a packet like: ‘Who did you like? Who was your ex-boyfriend? Who did you hate? Who did you have some animosity towards?’ I didn’t fill it out,” Talan revealed. “I was kind of on the sidelines, and I didn’t want to do a reality show. I just had no interest in doing it.”
After Talan’s name kept getting brought up in other people’s packets, producers knew he had to be part of the show.
“I’m really happy I did it. I think that being 20 years later, it’s just so cool to look back at this moment in my life,” he said. “I feel very bonded with these people, and I’m happy that they put my name on the packet.”
The Reunion: Laguna Beach premieres on The Roku Channel on April 10.
