Evanescence have announced their new album, Sanctuary, out June 5 via Sony Music/Columbia. The 12-track LP is three years in the making and was described as an outlet for the band to release something good in the world during a dark time.
“Finally listening back to it all at once, about to release it to the world, I am so damn proud of every second of it,” vocalist Amy Lee says. “Working on it has been my outlet for so much that feels wrong and out of control, and a place to ignite hope through the power of music and connection… Good thing we have the tour all lined up, or I wouldn’t know what to do with myself now! I’ve been completely obsessed. I’m dying for the fans to hear this.”

The band also released “Who Will You Follow,” the first single from Sanctuary. The song, which was previewed with a tease earlier this month alongside an animated scene of birds and ocean waves, is paired with a piano melody and a haunting delivery from Lee: “When all your faith in reality fades away, who will you follow?”
Production was handled by Zakk Cervini (Bad Omens) alongside Jordan Fish, who teamed up with Lee last year on “End of You,” which featured collaborations with Poppy and Spiritbox’s Courtney LaPlante.
In June, Evanescence will begin their North American tour with support from Spiritbox and Nova Twins before heading to Europe for shows with Poppy and K.Flay.
