We can’t say we saw this coming. But it seems Bravo did, because the network wasted no time on hitting pause on “Summer House: Martha’s Vineyard” and making that pause official.
Just days after the season 2 reunion aired (which we hear the cast had to beg for), Bravo announced the show would be on pause. Pause, in Bravo terms, means not cancelled, but not given the greenlight to shoot the next season either.
Nicholas “Nick” Arrington, Jasmine Ellis Cooper, Jordan Emanuel, Bria Fleming (and pup Milo), Shanice Henderson, Amir Lancaster, Preston Mitchum, Summer Marie Thomas and Alex Tyree all returned for season 2 along with newcomer Noelle Hughley. And it seemed like PLENTY happened in the off season before they all arrived to the Vineyard.
People’s vibes were off, Amir and his new girlfriend rubbed everybody the wrong way, and Jasmine returned without husband Silas, but WITH her and Silas’ baby in her belly. So, yeah, ish was interesting this season. And so was that FreakNik party.
The reunion didn’t get to the bottom of why Jordan had a stank attitude the entire season (it couldn’t have been solely the alopecia), why everybody iced out Jasmine (even with Silas gone), why Summer was brown liquor-acting all summer, or why Bria keeps getting away with turning up on everybody then policing their responses. So instead of giving us a part 2, Bravo said nah, we’ll just pause it all together.
As for why, it’s not really clear.
Deadline reports:
The reality series has not been canceled, but a third season has not been greenlit for this year after two consecutive years.

And Bria confirmed the news today saying this at least gives them an opportunity to explore their individual professional and personal goals further:
We’re pretty sure the fact multiple cast members threatened to not shoot for next season contributed to the pause. Amir said if his girlfriend Natalie couldn’t join the house full time next season (boy, what?!), then he wouldn’t return either.
And apparently, Summer, who said she went through a heavy mental toll this season, has said in interviews she doesn’t feel like she could return next season with relationships as fractured as they are.
Newbie Noelle may have shed some light on what she meant by that. She just did an interview where she revealed that right before the season aired (meaning cameras were already down), Summer threatened to beat up her and other female cast members. Messy.
This Summer House cast may really need a break, tbh. And a complete cast overhaul.
Who would be your vote to be replaced?!
