“With a heavy heart, I tell you that my father, Donald Sutherland, has passed away,” he wrote. “I personally think one of the most important actors in the history of film. Social Media Pays Tribute To Donald Sutherland

“Donald Sutherland is genuinely one of the most underrated, under appreciated actors of all time. Not a role he didn’t instantly elevate by his sheer presence alone,” one of his fans wrote on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter. “Rest in peace to an all time great.”

“RIP Donald Sutherland, 88. One of my all-time favorite actors who played so many great roles. What a sad loss,” another said after hearing the news.

Donald Sutherland Was Always Dressed To The Nines

In a previous interview, the late Donald Sutherland expressed why dressing nice meant so much to him.

“First and foremost the impression of cleanliness,” he told Inside Hook. “Beautiful fabric. Jackets that drape perfectly, no ripple on the suit back just below the bottom of the collar at the back of the neck, with the shoulders lying flat on the chest. There should be no separation between the suit collar and the shirt collar at the back of the neck. It should not ride up on one side or the other with movement.”

When asking who should be credited for his fashion, Sutherland said it’s all thanks to his wife.

“My wife, Francine Racette, has the best taste in the world and instructs and corrects me on every occasion,” he told the outlet. “Federico Fellini’s costume designer Danilo Donati. The brilliant designer Milena Canonera. And the wonderful Judianna Makovsky, who created the clothes for Fred Schepisi’s film Six Degree of Separation. I loved being in them, so elegant they were.”
