Christian Louboutin Honored With Innovator Award At 4th Annual Hollywood Unlocked Impact Awards

At this year’s fourth annual Hollywood Unlocked Impact Awards, celebrity shoe designer Christian Louboutin was honored with the Innovator Award.

Taking place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, CA on Friday, June 21, Hollywood’s biggest night celebrated some of the industry’s most influential figures, including celebrity shoe designer Christian Louboutin.

The French fashion designer is best known for his high-end shoes, which are identifiable by the brilliant red soles. Louboutin’s shoes have been worn by millions of people across the globe and named in several songs, notably including Cardi B’s “Bodak Yellow.”

As he continues to design for the stars and innovate, Christian Louboutin is now being honored at the 4th annual Hollywood Unlocked Impact Awards for his innovative ideas and impact on the fashion industry. The Innovator Award is given to someone who transformed a specific genre of the entertainment industry. The award honors someone who has proven longevity and consistency in their field. They have had crossover appeal and helped bridge the gap between entertainment and the world.

While accepting his award, Christian Louboutin said, “I’m not sure how much of an innovator I am. This is the first time I’ve received this award.  It can be quite terrifying at times to keep up with trends, but that’s never been my goal. I’ve always tried to do things with passions during honesty and I’ve done okay so far. I don’t try to be modern every 6 months. I listen to my heart and let things in my heart drive my emotions. Being innovative to me means being human without losing the plot … We need more empathy in the world. Let’s stop trying to divide and have more respect and compassion for humanity.”

About the Hollywood Unlocked Impact Awards

Founded by Hollywood Unlocked CEO Jason Lee, the Impact Awards serve as a platform to honor trailblazers in music, film, media, politics, and beyond, with a specific focus on uplifting the Black community. Past recipients have included luminaries like Chlöe Bailey, Floyd Mayweather, Lizzo, and Whoopi Goldberg, all of whom have left an indelible mark on their respective industries.

Now, this year, the Hollywood Unlocked Impact Awards, pre-recorded and airing on The Zeus Network, also shined a spotlight on other luminaries from various fields, with actor Jonathan Majors receiving the Perseverance Award, Grammy-winning rapper Cardi B receiving the Inspiration Award and legendary rapper Fat Joe the Culture Award. For a third year in a row, the event was hosted by Tiffany Haddish.

Additional honorees also include civil rights and personal injury attorney Ben Crump, U.S. Representative Jasmine Crockett, and rapper Da Brat with her wife Jesseca Harris-Dupart further underscoring the event’s commitment to recognizing diverse voices and contributions.
