Apple TV+ has released a trailer for its upcoming family series titled Me, which is described as “an elevated cinematic coming-of-age story” about a kid with superpowers.
The story follows a 12-year-old kid named Ben, “who is in the throes of middle school (complete with bullies, crushes and school dances!) as he adjusts to a newly blended family AND the realization that he has superpowers.
Throughout the ten-episode series, “Ben goes on a journey of self-discovery and learns what having superpowers truly means. He finds an ally in his stepsister, Max, who helps him harness these powers and uncover the secrets behind the mysteries and tragedies of his community… all while he tries to come to terms with what it means to be Ben.”
The series was created by screenwriter Barry L. Levy (Vantage Point) who is also the showrunner. The series stars Lucian-River Chauhan as Ben Vasani, Abigail Pniowsky as Max Davis, Dilshad Vadsaria as Elizabeth Vasani, Amanda Reid as Carter Kennedy, and Jessy Yates as Morgan. Guest stars include Kyle Howard as Phil Davis and Sharif Atkins as Darren Kennedy.
The series doesn’t look like anything special, just another one of those uninteresting stories about someone with superpowers. But maybe some young audiences out there will enjoy!
The series is set to premiere on Apple TV+ on July 12th, 2024.
