Season 2 of The Real Housewives of Dubai is currently airing, and this installment brings quite a few changes to friendships. Notably, Chanel Ayan and Lesa Milan are on the outs, and the former has taken up a friendship with Caroline Stanbury. Recently, the RHODubai star sat down to discuss the season, the drama, and how she feels about Caroline Brooks.
Fans will recall that Chanel and Lesa were best friends in the first season of the show. However, since they wrapped filming, this has completely changed, and it’s caused other divides in the group.
According to ET Online, Caroline recently spoke about the situation with Lesa and Chanel and had quite a bit to say. She starts by saying that she had nothing to do with them falling out.
Caroline says, “I’m always dodging a bullet somehow. I’ve got nothing to do with their fallout, and, quite frankly, I want nothing to do with it. I don’t want to touch this drama.”
She goes on to say that Lesa blames her for everything.
“Lesa just pins anything and everything on me. You know, the sun doesn’t come out, that’s my fault. Everything’s my fault, as far as she’s concerned.”
She continues, “I mean, Lesa simply can’t get a headline unless I’m in it, so just let her keep going. I just don’t want to play in the dirt with her. She can roll around by herself.”
Caroline then talks about what it took for her and Chanel to become friends. Notably, the two ladies were at odds in season 1 of the show. She also shares that their being enemies caused an awkward dynamic for the group.
Caroline says, “It got so bad that you know, where do you go from there? At the end of the day, we’re a friend group, and it made it very awkward for everybody around us.”
She goes on, “Now, we realized how much we do have in common. We both have teenagers. We both went away to boarding school — be it very different ones — her reactions to things, how I see them, and how I understand her now, and the way she understands my sarcasm now, you can see her sort of going, ‘Oh, that was funny! That wasn’t meant to be a dig…’ and, you know, she doesn’t always get on the defensive when I open my mouth. And we’re actually really building a good relationship together; our husbands get on. The kids get on. So, it’s great.”
Caroline then says that she’s confused about the other Caroline’s disdain towards her this season. She says, “I’ve still not had an answer. I’m just as confused as all of you are. I’m like, wow, that is a lot of hate for a very funny statement that Nina Ali and I made about Taleen. It was a fleeting thing. It was just a giggle and very light.
According to Caroline, Taleen isn’t upset about the comment she made in season 1, so she doesn’t know why there’s still so much drama around it.
Elsewhere in the interview, Caroline also talks about how much her life has changed but also how she still wants to have another child.
“I can be selfish now, you know? I feel my kids don’t need me as much, which is amazing. So, to go back to the nappy stage and think about, you know, I actually built a grown-up house. I have white sofas. How’s that gonna work? I think like this, and then I’m like, oh, but maybe I’d be a different type of mom. Maybe now I’m so much more relaxed.”
