Why Johnny Depp’s Romance With Russian Lover ‘Suits Him Well’

Johnny Depp’s romance with Russian model Yulia Vlasova has set tongues wagging due to the pair’s age gap. However, according to a love expert, this might be good for Depp.

Professional matchmaker Amy Laurent endorsed the actor’s “casual” relationship with Vlasova.

Laurent claims that Depp’s involvement with the Russian beauty might “suit him well at the moment” because the past drama from his tumultuous breakup with actress Amber Heard has allegedly made him less appealing to many.

Johnny Depp and Yulia Vlasova have already been spotted together on a few outings; however, they are trying to keep things low-key.

After being mostly single since his split from ex-wife Amber Heard, Depp recently made headlines for beginning a new relationship with Russian model Vlasova.

The actor’s split from Heard was rife with drama, including accusations of domestic violence and a lengthy defamation battle in court.

Some now think that this history reduced the actor’s chances of meeting anyone new who wants something serious. In light of this, his casual romance with Vlasova is seen as the perfect fit for him.

“Given the tumultuous breakup with Amber Heard and the huge fallout that came from a highly publicized court battle, he’s not exactly winning any ‘Bachelor of the Year’ awards, or even ‘Bachelor of the Decade’ for that matter,” relationship expert Laurent said of Depp in an interview with Fox News Digital.

She added, “Perhaps being with someone younger who is not looking for something substantial or isn’t as turned off by his track record may actually suit him well at the moment.”

According to a report, sources close to Depp claim that he and Vlasova have been dating “here and there” for over two years. This timeline suggests that their relationship began shortly after the completion of Depp’s defamation trial with Heard.

The actor-singer reportedly met the 28-year-old woman when he visited Prague, Czech Republic, in 2021 for the 55th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.

Vlasova is said to be based in the city and owns a business there but often travels to the U.K. to spend time with Depp. Neither Depp nor Vlasova have confirmed their relationship, although they have been spotted together on several occasions.

According to the Daily Mail, the most recent sighting of the love birds was last week when they appeared to be traveling out of London Heliport.

Depp and Vlasova dressed casually for the trip, looking cozy with each other as they walked the tarmac together.

The “Alice in Wonderland” actor donned a black long-sleeve shirt, with one sleeve rolled up to reveal his tattoos. He paired it with blue jeans and a gray sweater stylishly tied around his waist. To complete the look, he wore a red beanie, sunglasses, and red shoes.

Depp also had his guitar in his right hand and a black mug in his left during the outing.

Vlasova, on the other hand, rocked a black crop top that bared her toned belly and matched the outfit with loose-fitting trousers.

She accessorized her look with a white pair of sneakers, a necklace hanging outside her top, retro sunglasses, and a black handbag in her right hand.

Earlier this year, Vlasova got fans talking about her relationship with Depp when she shared a snapshot on her Instagram Story that featured her and the Hollywood star resting their hands on each other’s legs.

At the time, the blonde bombshell posted the picture after a follower inquired about her “favorite actor.” She replied with the photo along with a caption that read, “JD. He is a man who is incredibly talented and inspiring.”

However, she appears to want to keep their romance private, as seen by her recent candid request to the media to stay out of her personal life.

“Friends, I ask you to refrain from giving any interviews to journalists concerning me and my personal life. Your understanding and respect for my privacy will be appreciated,” Vlasova wrote in a post in her native Czech language, per Page Six.

Since returning to Hollywood after his court battle with Heard, Depp has been involved in several projects, including the French-language biopic “Jeanne du Barry,” in which he played King Louis XV.

He recently released an animated movie, “Johnny Puff: Secret Mission,” inspired by the animated Puffins series, where he voiced the character Johnny Puff.

According to reports, Depp invented a new language for his character in the animated film.

“I thought it would be great to invent a language for the character,” the actor said in a production featurette for the film, per Forbes. “I thought the only move now is to mix my dialogue with the actual sound of a puffin.”
