LeToya Luckett recently jumped the broom with her husband, Taleo Coles, in a lavish wedding held at the dreamy La Tesserae venue in Houston,Texas.
On Aug.1, Essence shared beautiful photos of the couple’s breathtaking ceremony that brought in approximately 200 guests. Among those in attendance were Ms. Tina Knowles, Toya Wright-Rushing, Tammy Franklin, LaTavia Roberson, Bun B, and Terrell Grice. Pastor Devon Franklin officiated the ceremony.
According to Luckett, their wedding drew significant inspiration from her warm upbringing in Houston, with contributions from local stars. Lil Keke, an original member of Houston’s Screwed Up Click, performed “Southside,” while Bryan Michael Cox, another Houstonian, kept the energy high as the evening’s DJ. Late-night bites were provided by Bun B’s Trill Burgers, and the party favors—white bandanas and cowgirl hats—added a charming local touch.
“If it was up to me, I would’ve had a full southside wedding. I would’ve had swangas outside and everything,” the songstress told Essence during an exclusive interview moments before the ceremony.
Luckett and Coles met in 2022 through a mutual friend. Love came at the perfect time for the R&B singer as she had gone through an extensive “healing process” opting to abstain from dating for two years to find herself. After a two-year journey of falling in love, Coles asked the singer for her hand in marriage on March 10, 2024.
“My soul is at ease,” the “Torn” artist, who is entering her third marriage, said. “I feel like our story is one of hope. For the single moms who might doubt that love and a blended family are possible, I hope our journey shows them that it’s never too late to find happiness and build something beautiful.”

The former Destiny’s Child star shined in a beautiful dress from Black designer Alonuko Bridal. Although the ceremony included many traditional elements, the couple personalized the event with handwritten vows.
