Chicago rapper Polo G is opening up and addressing the recent family issues that went viral between his mother and sister, which resulted in a shooting incident.

While interviewing Polo G on Power 105’s ‘The Breakfast Club,’ host Charlamagne Tha God asked the rapper about his private family matters going public and spilling over onto social media for the world to see. CTG asked the rapper if he ever intervenes in the beef between his mother Stacia Mac, real name Stacia McNeil, and sister Leilani Capalot, born Leilani Bartlett.
Polo G shook his head “yes,” and added, “For sure. I’m always intervening, like, I don’t want to see no sh*t like that. I’mma always try to get in between it before it goes too far.” CThaGod and co-host DJ Envy both quip, “What you mean goes too far? They were fighting and shooting!” CThaGod then joked and said it just must be a Chicago thing, resulting in Polo G and guest host Nyla Symone breaking out in laughter.

CThaGod proceeded to ask Polo G if the beef between his mother and sister was something that could even be worked out. He replied, “Yeah, for sure. We’re family. I feel like because of who I am it’s just being broadcasted more and everybody is talking about it. But, every family goes through sh*t like that. That sh*t I’m accustomed to.” DJ Envy chimed in and said, “Minus the shooting,” and then asked, “How do you intervene, because you can’t pick a side? It’s like you almost got to just try to put them both in a room and be like, ‘Listen, have this conversation.’”
Polo G agreed and said, ‘Yeah, that’s definitely the angle to take ‘cause my sister is a pretty headstrong person. She’s her mother’s child, you know?” When asked if he’s already tried to put his mother and sister on the phone to hash things out he said, “It’s something that I want to get around to but I’m definitely letting it breathe a little bit more right now.”
CThaGod continued to push for reconciliation, explaining, “I always liked The Capalots. I liked watching y’all as a family. I just thought that was dope [to see] mom help managing the rapper son — I just thought that was dope.” Polo G shook his head in agreement and added, “Mhmm.”

As a refresher, we last reported on the family’s issues in June when Polo G’s mother Stacia Mac filed a restraining order against her daughter Leilani Capalot after the viral self-defense shooting that took place in April.
In her filing, Mac alleged that her daughter was intoxicated when she entered her home without her knowledge and began attacking her inside her bedroom before running around the house and destroying all of her mother’s property. Video showing the aftermath of the altercation eventually leaked online and it showed Mac chasing her daughter off of her property while firing off a gunshot.
