Screambox has released the trailer for a fun-looking Canadian zombie horror comedy titled We Are Zombies. The film is set in a post-zombie apocalypse where the undead are just part of everyday life.
The synopsis for the film reads: “When the dead are back, what do we do with them? In this horror comedy, instead of a bloodthirsty horde, the undead are a peaceful and oppressed collective, whose social integration is fought for by a group of activists, and whose subalternity is taken advantage of by certain heartless people.
“The protagonists of the film will find themselves caught up in this conflict of wills, forced to fight against a megacorporation in order to save their grandmother.”
This looks like a unique take on the zombie genre, and it’s based on the comic book series The Zombies That Ate the World.
The film comes from the filmmaker collective RKSS, which consists of François Simard, Anouk Whissell and Yoann-Karl Whissell, director of the movies Turbo Kid and Summer of 84.
The movie stars Alexandre Nachi, Derek Johns, and Megan Peta Hill, and the movie looks like it’ll be a bast to watch!
The movie will be released on ScreamBox on August 13th, 2024.
