Gilbert Arenas‘ fiancée has social media users tussling in comment sections after she surprised her man with an engagement ring! On Monday (August 12), Gilbert and Melli Monaco were kicking it at a nightclub when she pulled the loving stunt.

As mentioned, Gilbert and his fiancée were sitting in a VIP section when several bottle girls walked up with flashing lights and a sign meant to say, “Men wear engagement rings too.”
At first, Arenas appeared confused as he looked at the sign. When he glanced to the side, Melli was rocking to the music while holding open a small ring box.
He stared at the ring for a moment before closing his eyes and slowly smiling. Arenas then turned up the energy and held out his hand excitedly for the ring. After Melli slipped the gold band with diamonds on his finger, he stood up and started showing off his new bling!

Gilbert Arenas Upgraded His GF To A Fiancée Last Month
For context, the former NBA player dropped on one knee for Melli Monaco in July. He proposed to his then-girlfriend at the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France. Gilbert shared the life update on Instagram, joking in the caption that he was “so nervous” that he “answered yes for her” and is “technically engaged” to himself!
The newly engaged fiancèe hopped in her man’s comment section, per Essence, and confirmed that Gilbert proposed in “one breath.” She later captioned her Instagram post about the news with a “YES!” and tagged Gilbert.
Essence reports that Gilbert Arenas and Melli Monaco’s love story began with him shooting his shot at her while she live-streamed. The retired basketball player previously dated Laura Govan between 2002 and 2014 before briefly splitting up and getting engaged in 2018. During that time, they welcomed four children: Alijah, Izela, Aloni, and Hamiley.
After their break-up, Gilbert Arenas gagged social media by announcing that he had given Govan a fake engagement ring “JUST IN CASE” their relationship didn’t pan out. Whether he tried the same approach with Melli Monaco is unknown, but congrats to the happy couple!
