Jennifer Lawrence Looks ‘Miserable’ In Sheer Dress In London

Jennifer Lawrence didn’t receive much love as her No Hard Feelings premiere look was deemed a disaster last summer. In June 2023, the 34-year-old actress rocked up to the London, U.K. premiere of the movie she stars in, going sheer in an elegant and rather somber black gown that fans seemed to feel did her no favors. Flashing her underwear beneath her see-through dress as she wore statement black gloves, Jennifer had fans thinking she looked glum and “miserable,” with some wondering why she’d picked such a dark outfit for a comedy movie.

Looking chic in a totally sheer top covered in floral embroidery, The Hunger Games actress flashed her toned shoulders and flat stomach while peeping her black bra, with the fabrics turning opaque below her belted waist.

Letting her gown fall to the floor, Jennifer showed hints of her pointed-toe stilettos, choosing a black pair of heels to match her dress as she further accessorized her look with dramatic below gloves in leather. The Hollywood favorite also kept glam with her light hair swept back into a high ponytail, allowing her triple earring and snake ear clasp to be visible.

Fans just weren’t feeling it. “Darling, you are trying to sell a comedy. Smile, please,” one said as The Daily Mail published the photos. Over 100 fans upvoted the comment. Also gaining likes was a user saying: “She actually looks quite miserable, like someone ran over her dog.”

“With those gloves, is she expecting to do their dishes afterwards?” a further user asked, with another fan saying that the dress was “not a good look.”

The response was far more positive as Jennifer slipped her curves into this polka-dot dress for the 2024 Oscars. Looking a million dollars in her chic, upbeat look, the actress rocked a bandeau top feeding into a long skirt, also wearing a shrug-like wrap in matching fabrics as she kept impeccably classy.

Unsurprisingly, J-Law had chosen a Dior dress from the brand she fronts. Meanwhile, her luxurious diamonds were courtesy of Swarovski.

Alongside being an ambassador for Dior, Jennifer is also signed by luxury watchmaker Longines.

“For me, it’s more of a fashion accessory,” she told Elle, adding: “I just think that it’s more expressive than a normal piece of jewelry. It says something more profound about you; it’s more professional. There’s something more serious about it that I like.”
