Katy Perry Endorses Kamala Harris & Tim Walz

The “Dark Horse” singer ‘put her fashion where her mouth is’ when she showed up on the streets of Manhattan, meaning business about her political choice.

Katy Perry’s support comes right after Kamala Harris’ epic Tuesday night debate against former president Donald Trump.

The musician’s very glaring endorsement comes hours after Taylor Swift pitched her tent with the Vice President and Tim Walz campaign team. Perry stepped out in a bright orange ensemble and matched it with a camo-patterned Harris-Walz hat on Wednesday.

The celebrity is most certainly a huge fan of the Democrats, and she previously shared a video compilation of Harris highlights set to her hit “Woman’s World” this summer. Her recent outing reiterates her commitment to the mission.

TMZ also shared that Perry’s decision may have been fueled by Harris’ sterling debate against her opposing candidate as they prepare for a showdown at the presidential polls in November.

Fans and speculators have opined that Perry may be trying to tap into Swift’s popularity after her endorsement post yesterday, although the mom-of-one did not react to or comment on Swift’s post.

The “Shake It Off” singer had maintained a deafening silence throughout most of the campaign season, refusing to be fazed even by Trump’s fake AI video claiming Swift endorsed him.

However, the Tuesday debate spurred a reaction from Swift, who finally declared she was on Harris’ side in the Instagram post.

Several celebrities, including Olivia Wilde, Kylie Kelce, Hilary Duff, Demi Lovato, Blake Lively, Lady Gaga, and Christie Brinkley, hit the like button, seemingly agreeing with Swift’s statement.

Swift’s support came in at a crucial time for the candidates, and according to Walz, who The Blast noted, did not miss the opportunity to praise the move. He declared:

“I am incredibly grateful, first of all, to Taylor Swift. I say that also as a cat owner — a fellow cat owner. That was eloquent, and it was clear. And that’s the type of courage we need in America, to stand up.”

The politician also addressed the difficulty women face in getting abortion services and how it has robbed many women of their much-needed privacy. He added, “And now you have somebody like Taylor Swift coming out and making that very clear.”

Swift also commended Walz’s views on sensitive topics, including “LGBTQ+ rights,  IVF, and a woman’s right to her own body for decades,” noting that she was so “heartened and impressed” by Harris’ decision to select him as a running mate.

The billionaire expressed her belief in Harris’ plans and took a jab at Trump and Vance for their comments.

She condemned Trump’s attempts at doctoring a fake video of her endorsing him and posting it on his site. Swift noted that it conjured up her fears about AI and “the dangers of spreading misinformation.”

Swift explained that she would vote for the 59-year-old because “she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them,” and Harris is a “steady-handed, gifted leader.” She encouraged her fans to do their research and make their choices as she did.

The pop star concluded her statement by writing, “With love and hope, Taylor Swift Childless Cat Lady,” a reference to one of Vance’s comments about Harris’ supporters.

The Blast noted that Swift’s statement filtered into the appropriate quarters yesterday and was relatively well received by Trump.

The business mogul claimed he was not losing any sleep over missing out on Swift’s support, adding that he was never a fan of hers and liked “Brittany Mahomes much better.”

Trump expressed his fondness for Mahomes when he shared a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, noting that it was nice to see the beautiful Brittany strongly defending him.

“With Crime and Illegal Immigration totally out of control, INFLATION Ravaging all Americans, and a World that is laughing at the stupidity of our hapless’ leaders,’ it is nice to see someone who loves our Country and wants to save it from DOOM,” he added.

Mahomes allegedly hinted at her support for the Republican candidate when she liked a post from Trump on August 13 about “The 2023 GOP Platform,” but she quickly unliked it.
