Hulu’s The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives is the newest reality TV show to take over popular culture. Fans have called it shocking and salacious, and many think it’ll last for years to come. Now, Taylor Frankie Paul is opening up about once being considered for The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives is a pretty explosive show. The details of swinging in the Mormon community have taken over headlines, but the show is much more than what it appears on the surface. In reality, it explores what many women of the faith go through to be a part of it.
According to US Weekly, Taylor sat down for an interview on the Scheananigans podcast with Scheana Shay. She had quite a bit to discuss, but one of the most noteworthy tidbits came when she admitted that she was previously in talks to join RHOSLC.
According to Taylor, “I actually did get interviewed for the [The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City]. I had an interview, I think, a few months prior [to The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives], maybe a little longer.”
Taylor continued, “And basically … a little birdie told me, ‘You didn’t have enough drama in your life.’”
Of course, it’s not uncommon for casting agents to interview several women for Housewives, and then ultimately decide they’re not right for the show.
Scheana found this surprising, considering the swinging “scandal” Taylor has been a part of.
She then admitted that she wasn’t forthcoming about being a swinger during her interview, saying, “I was obviously not admitting to what we were up to.”
For context, she didn’t open up about her “soft swinging” until about two years after being considered for the hit Bravo show, which has just started its fifth season.
Taylor said she never watched Housewives before being interviewed to join the show. However, since RHOSLC premiered, she has been in contact with some of the ladies, but she did not say which ones.
