Reality TV fans have been discussing Shannon Beador quite a bit in recent months thanks to season 18 of The Real Housewives of Orange County. Now, her ex-husband, David Beador, is in the news after his wife, Lesley Beador, filed a restraining order against him just days ago. However, the bad news doesn’t stop there, as she has now served him divorce papers.
Shannon and David got married in 2000, and they have three kids together. Years into the marriage, Shannon learned he’d had an affair, and they initially tried to make things work, but then she filed for divorce from him in 2017. Three years later, he married Lesley, and they have one daughter. Lesley also has kids from a previous relationship.
According to InTouch Weekly, Lesley filed for divorce from David on September 17 and listed “irreconcilable differences” as the cause of the dissolution of their marriage. She listed their date of separation as September 8. As a part of the divorce paperwork, Leslie wants full custody of their three-year-old daughter, and she wants David to have visitation rights.
Lesley also wants spousal support, and she requested that the court deny him the right to collect any monetary support from her. She also wants the court to require him to pay any legal fees they owe that are associated with the divorce.
Regarding the couple’s community property, the divorce papers say, “Various community property assets, the full extent, nature, and location are currently unknown at this time.”
David has issued a legal response to Lesley’s divorce paperwork. In his response, he disagrees with the date of separation and says it was September 17 and not September 8. Regarding custody, he wants joint legal and physical rights to their three-year-old daughter. He agrees to pay spousal support, but only as per the terms of their prenuptial agreement, which gives her $10,000 per month for half the duration of their marriage. As per his response, the support should have started on September 17.
David also wants both parties to pay the legal fees associated with the divorce.
As mentioned, the divorce comes mere days after Lesley asked for a restraining order. She alleges that he became “verbally abusive” and created a “hostile environment.” Lesley also says that her ex has a restraining order against David, and she recounted a time when he came to pick up the children she has with him, and David became enraged. She says she has a video of the encounter.
According to Lesley, “All the children were present and witnessed [David’s] behavior toward Eriks. It was very scary. I recorded this whole incident and will provide the videos to the court.”
She continued, “After this incident, I received about 59 harassing texts from [David] in a row telling me I was ‘having sex with him,’ ‘I should go have sex with him,’ and was accusing me of all kinds of things that could never be possible. [David] truly needs help. He gets in an obsessive mania state.”
Lesley then said, “I never know when [David’s] next meltdown will be or how long they will last. These meltdowns, when they occur, are nonstop, even when he is working, and they cause me to live in fear and to worry about the effect on the children.”
David has denied that this happened. According to him, “Lesley routinely tells me I am abusive when I disagree with her or make my opinions known. She has a habit of texting me consistently for hours at a time, trying to spark a reaction out of me. I believe Lesley is angry because I cut off the unlimited spending ability on her credit cards over the weekend.”
He also said that he previously filed for divorce from her on three occasions but dismissed each of them. He accuses her of “pure extortion,” and he said, “She is upset because I canceled her credit card with unlimited spending. I am not required to sustain her lifestyle.”
David added, “Lesley will spin whatever story she needs to spin in the correct circumstance to get what she wants.”
Per the restraining order, he must stay 100 yards away from Lesley. He can’t enter their marital home until next month.
