Country music award shows seem adamant about skipping Beyoncé despite her record-breaking “Cowboy Carter” album.

Despite having more nominations than any other female artist, the sensational singer took nothing home at this year’s People’s Choice Country Awards.

Beyoncé’s losing streak at the award ceremony comes after the CMA Awards snubbed her with zero nominations, an incident that sparked cries of racism online.

Although the People’s Choice Country Awards seemingly applauded Beyoncé’s first country music album with 17 nominations, she walked home empty-handed.

The “TEXAS HOLD’ EM” hitmaker suffered loss after loss at the award ceremony on Thursday, receiving no trophies in categories like People’s Artist, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Female Artist.

The losing streak was surprising given that her “Cowboy Carter” album was a financial success, competing with stars like Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish. However, it seemed topping charts and being financially successful did not guarantee awards.

While the award show did not honor Beyoncé, a fellow newcomer to the country music scene, Shaboozey gave her a special shout-out. During his acceptance speech for Best New Artist, he thanked the singer for being “amazing,” per TMZ.

Fans Slam The CMA Awards For Ignoring Beyoncé

Beyoncé’s snub at the People’s Choice Country Awards came weeks after fans slammed the CMA Awards for ignoring her. The Blast shared that Queen Bey received zero nominations despite her successful album.

Social media platforms like X erupted with conspiracy theories, with many accusing the CMA committee of not recognizing Black artists. Someone compared the difference between Beyoncé and Post Malone’s treatment, writing:

“Both Beyoncé & Post Malone ventured into country music this year, and both earned #1 Country Songs (Beyoncé didn’t need a Morgan Wallen feature). Somehow, Post Malones song received 4 nominations at the CMAs while Beyoncé’s received 0.”

Another echoed similar sentiments, claiming: “The CMAs have failed to recognize the first black woman to score a #1 album/song in country music HISTORY.” A third added: “I knew they were going to find a way to snub Cowboy Carter. Racist ass award show.”

Queen Bey Is The First Black Woman To Snag No. 1 On Hot Country Songs Chart

Despite receiving no honors at country music award shows, the snub did not overshadow Beyoncé’s achievements as a newcomer in the music genre. She became the first Black woman to snag the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart.

The music icon celebrated the achievement in a lengthy post, writing: “Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all of the supporters of ‘Texas Hold’ Em’ and ’16 Carriages.'” She continued:

“I feel honored to be the first Black woman with the number one single on the Hot Country Songs chart.”

“It feels good to see how music can unite so many people around the world while also amplifying the voices of some of the people who have dedicated so much of their lives educating on our musical history,” Beyoncé added.

Dolly Parton Doesn’t Believe Beyoncé Was Snubbed

Following Beyoncé’s zero nominations at the 2024 CMA Awards, The Blast reported that Dolly Parton had addressed the situation. The country music icon believed the younger singer wasn’t snubbed, saying:

“There’s so many wonderful country artists that, I guess, probably the country music field, they probably thought, well, we can’t really leave out some of the ones that spend their whole life doing that.”

“I think everybody in country music welcomed her and thought that was good. So I don’t think it was a matter of shutting out, like doing that on purpose,” Parton continued, adding:

“I think it was just more of what the country charts and the country artists were doing, that do that all the time, not just a specialty album.”

The Music Icon Enjoyed Working With Beyoncé

Parton stressed that despite zero nominations at the CMAs, Beyoncé had released a “wonderful album.” She noted that the young singer “can be very, very proud of [the album].”

The duo collaborated on the tracks “Dolly P” and “Tyrant,” while Beyoncé solely covered Parton’s hit “Jolene” song for her album. While reflecting on their time together, the music icon said:

“Well, ‘Jolene’ was in Beyoncé’s, and I thought that was a great album. She’s a country girl in Texas and Louisiana, so she grew up with that base. It wasn’t like she just appeared out of nowhere.”

While Parton believed Queen Bey wasn’t snubbed by the CMAs, fellow country music star Kelly Clarkson begged to differ. “I kind of find it fascinating because I feel like those songs were everywhere,” she argued.

Will Beyoncé feel slighted about winning no trophies in the country music scene?
