Rapper BlocBoy JB has been arrested, adding to the recent wave of legal troubles faced by artists in the hip-hop industry. The Memphis entertainer was taken into custody on Monday, October 1st, at approximately 5 AM after law enforcement officers claimed he fell asleep at an intersection.
According to Action 5 News, a Tennessee state trooper observed a red Mazda SUV stopped at a traffic light beyond the designated stop line. Upon closer inspection, the trooper found JB asleep in the driver’s seat, with his foot on the brake pedal. Reports indicate that he remained knocked out through two cycles of red lights.
While investigating the vehicle, the trooper allegedly discovered a handgun and 12.4 grams of marijuana within reach of the rapper, as noted in the official affidavit. Consequently, JB was taken into police custody based on these findings.

This incident is not the first time BlocBoy JB has faced legal issues related to drug possession. In 2019, the 28-year-old was arrested on charges that included speeding, possession of a handgun as a convicted felon, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The 2019 arrest occurred during a surveillance operation by Shelby County sheriff’s deputies near JB’s residence. A detective reportedly detected the smell of burning marijuana from outside the home. Following the acquisition of a search warrant, officers discovered a glass jar containing marijuana, two scales, a loaded Glock 27 .40 caliber handgun, and a box containing 33 rounds of .40 caliber ammunition, alongside 100 rounds of .223 ammunition and 129 rounds of 9mm ammunition.
In a separate area of the residence, authorities also found a Diamondback rifle equipped with a 50-round drum, an additional magazine, and a laser sight. Furthermore, another loaded Diamondback rifle was located in a different room.
As of now, a representative for BlocBoy JB has not publicly commented on this latest arrest.
