Jason has been consumed by guilt and has even grown distant from his loved ones after killing a terrorist in Season 7’s premiere. He starts feeling that he is just like Curtis, who doesn’t deserve to be forgiven after killing so many people as a Navy SEAL. As a result, he puts his gun down in front of Curtis and starts to walk away.

However, Drew finishes off the mission by killing Curtis. Apart from Curtis’ treason against the US, he wanted to seek revenge for the former’s involvement in attempting to kill his brothers.
