Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory, known for his role as a co-founder of the notorious Black Mafia Family, has been released from prison and is set to complete the remainder of his sentence at a transitional housing facility, according to a report by TMZ on Wednesday.
The Federal Bureau of Prisons informed the entertainment news outlet that Flenory was moved on Tuesday from FCI Coleman Low in Wildwood to a community confinement facility managed by the Bureau of Prisons Miami Residential Reentry Management Office.

Flenory was apprehended in 2005 and received a 30-year prison sentence in 2008 after being found guilty of drug trafficking and money laundering offenses. In 2024, a judge reduced his sentence by nearly three years.
As stated on the Federal Bureau of Prisons website, Flenory is anticipated to be released on January 27, 2026.
In an interview with TMZ, Flenory’s lawyer, Brittany K. Barnett, expressed her excitement over the news of his release, stating that she was “overjoyed.” She highlighted that Flenory dedicated his time behind bars to personal development and emphasized that he now has a significant opportunity to embark on a fresh chapter in his life.
“Two decades is an incredibly long time, and it’s been inspiring to witness the power of hope and resilience,” Barnett told Complex in a statement. “He used his time in prison to focus on personal growth and transformation, and now he has the opportunity to begin a new chapter.”

Barnett continued, “He’s out, but millions more remain trapped inside – there’s still so much work to be done. We need to push for real change, for a justice system that recognizes the dignity and potential for redemption in every individual. Our commitment to challenging the injustices that still exist within the criminal legal system remains unwavering. There is nothing more urgent than freedom.”
