With the 2024 presidential election less than a month away, the women of The View have little else on their minds.

On Tuesday’s episode of the ABC roundtable show’s Behind the Table podcast, producer Brian Teta revealed to co-host Joy Behar that they will not have a Halloween episode for the first time in 28 years.

“I’m going to announce something today that’s going to upset a portion of the audience, but I think it’s going to make you happy,” he told Behar. “This year, because it’s only a few days before the election and we need to be live, the hosts are not going to dress up for Halloween.”

He explained of the tradition, “They’re iconic, it’s great, I’ll try to bring it back next year. The problem is, those shows are a huge undertaking, we have to do them on tape. Part of what our show has become and what it is right now, we can’t be on tape three days before the election.”

With recent guests including Democratic nominee, Vice President Kamala Harris, as well as President Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton and Liz Cheney, Behar agreed that there should be no distractions from the Nov. 5 Election Day.

“It’s too important,” she said. “I don’t mean to be grandiose, but we do have some influence on people’s thinking. We need to use every single minute on this show to inform the public about how dangerous [Donald Trump] is.”

After her ABC News debate with Trump last month, Harris has accepted a CNN invite for an Oct. 23 town hall following the deadline for both candidates to agree to a presidential debate on the network. The town hall will be broadcast live from the critical swing state of Pennsylvania.

Although Trump previously declared “THERE WILL BE NO THIRD DEBATE” for him, CNN has also proposed an individual town hall for him. He has since agreed to a pre-taped Fox News town hall focused on issues affecting women, which aired Wednesday.
