There has been quite a bit of talk about season nine of The Real Housewives of Potomac. Much of the discussion revolves around Mia Thornton and her paternity storyline on the show. In particular, many question the ethics behind her pondering if Gordon Thornton is the father of her son on national TV. Now, she has come out and exposed him for being an alleged serial abuser and said that her new boyfriend, Inc, helped save her. Plus, does he want alimony from her?
Mia has made no secret of the fact that she met Gordon in 2003 when she was an exotic dancer. In the beginning, their relationship was platonic, but they later became romantic. The couple tied the knot in 2012, and they are now going through a divorce. The pair have two kids, a son and a daughter.
Recently, Mia bravely took to her Instagram, where she made a lengthy post about her experiences with Gordon and detailed some intense abuse and infidelity. She begins by discussing how they met, writing, “Met my soon-to-be ex-husband at The Men’s Club Charlotte when I was 19 years old. He would come into the club during certain seasons and spend endless amounts of money. Naturally, I was fresh bait. Being the young and impressionable adolescent adult, he masterminded and manipulated me into thinking he was this successful and powerful pillar in the community.”
She goes on, “Maybe he was, but his bones were buried deep. He won me in by showing interest in a charity organization that I was affiliated with and connected me with prominent people in the city.”
Mia then detailed when the abuse and stalking started. She writes, “When I tried to distance myself, he started showing up at my home unannounced and told me if I didn’t follow his guidance, I would never amount to anything. This is exactly how the first two years went, trapped, confused, yet still found my way through it all.”
Mia goes on to say that Gordon continued to spend excessively, and he even did so with other women until he couldn’t any longer. She says she decided it was enough after she walked in on him and one of her friends having sex. After that, she says she “ran back to my love INC.”
She goes on, “Inc has been and will always be my safe place.” Despite this, she decided to remain married to Gordon to “help him get back on his feet.” She notes in the post that he was going through a tough financial time and had “less than gas money in his bank account.”
Mia also says that it took her “over a decade to gain the confidence and independence to live life on my terms.” She says, “I’m tired of protecting a predator, one who pays for sexual favors, who preys on young women, and master manipulates them into being his sex slaves.”

Additionally, Mia also took to X to essentially claim that Gordon wants alimony from her despite being so much older. Her post reads, “Question for the people. Should a wife who worked during her entire marriage be responsible for paying her soon-to-be ex-husband alimony because he’s 30+ years older than her and says he can’t find a job?”

She also repeatedly referred to Gordon as her “soon-to-be ex-husband” in the Instagram post. Fans can watch Mia on RHOP on Sunday nights.
