Yikes! DJ and host Funkmaster Flex, or just Funk Flex, is dragging the heck out of Shyne and exposing the former rapper as “a stone-cold-faced liar” after he claimed to be Sean “Diddy” Combs‘ scapegoat in the infamous 1999 shooting case in New York City.

Before Funk Flex’s comments, we previously shared that Shyne, born Jamal Michael Barrow and now going by the name Moses Michael Levi Barrow, was gearing up to premiere his own documentary in which he claims he was the scapegoat, or “fall guy” in the Diddy 1999 NYC nightclub shooting.

In his October 21-released documentary, ‘The Honorable Shyne,’ the former rapper shares his perspective on the infamous shooting that altered his life and derailed his budding rap career. In the doc trailer, Shyne reflects on his early days as a rapper. By the time he was 20 years old, he was already a millionaire after signing with Diddy’s Bad Boy Records and releasing his breakout single “Bad Boyz.”

However, Shyne’s fast-rising rap career came to a screeching halt when he was taken down in the 1999 shooting at a Manhattan nightclub involving Diddy, which left three people injured. In June 2001, Shyne was convicted of first-degree assault, while Diddy was charged with felony gun possession. However, the entertainment mogul was acquitted after claiming self-defense, and Shyne was left to serve 10 years behind prison bars.

In his documentary, Shyne and his mother, Frances Myvette, made serious allegations about the aftermath of the shooting. His mother said, “He was betrayed,” while Shyne added, “I was absolutely set up to be the fall guy.” Following the incident and prison sentence, Shyne was deported to Belize on October 28, 2009, and went through a personal transformation, becoming a politician. He converted to Judaism and became the country’s Music and Goodwill Ambassador. Currently, he serves as the Leader of the Belize House of Representatives.

Even during an interview with Channel 5 Belize earlier this year, Shyne made similar comments about the 1999 shooting incident involving Diddy. He said, “Everyone knew all along that I was the fall guy. But my political enemies and, you know, detractors try to make me into, you know, this criminal. But everyone knew that I was a young kid that took the fall. Everyone knew that that was the story. I’m just saying that I maintained my innocence all this time.”

Following the news of Shyne’s documentary, in which he claims to be Diddy’s scapegoat in the 1999 NYC shooting, Funk Flex is dragging the former rapper and exposing him as “a stone-cold-faced liar.” This past weekend, the radio host and DJ took to the airwaves to drag Shyne and claim he hasn’t been telling the whole truth about the 1999 shooting incident.

Beginning his rant about Shyne calling himself Diddy’s scapegoat, Funk Flex called the former rapper a “liar,” alleging that he was indeed the person who shot the gun in the 1999 club shooting. Flex claimed that Shyne was scared of a group of men at the club who were looking to settle an issue with him. The DJ and radio host alleged that Shyne owed money to the group of men for getting him studio time and feeling scared, he drew the weapon and began shooting.

According to Complex, Flex said, “Let me tell you about that night in that club. I don’t know what people are talking about Shyne was the streets. He was a punk. So, all of that street talk. You don’t ever come my way with that. Puff had to keep people off of you from beating you to death. Had to keep D-Roc from strangling you, Shyne. Let me tell you something, New York, about Shyne that night in that club. He knew exactly who those guys were that he got into a situation. It was his situation, not anybody else’s. This ain’t about Puff, It’s about the Notorious B.I.G. and you sounding like him and you trying to act like you were in demand and you was somebody. You a punk, and you shot that gun off that night because you was scared.”

He said, “If none of you veterans are gonna check this bozo, I’m gonna check him. I saw that trailer to Shyne’s documentary, and everybody sitting in it wanted to spit in Shyne’s face. I don’t care what friends I lose tonight, everybody sitting in that doc wanted to spit in your face, Shyne. I wanted to spit in your face. Puff had to beg me to play them records. Nobody was rocking with you. Sounding like Biggie, just die. You thought you were gonna step out here in these streets, and nobody was gonna check you. I’m gonna check you, man.”

Flex said, “When somebody tries to say they the scapegoat or they were used… it’s been bothering me. And I’m gonna keep it a buck. Shyne, I love you bro, and I know what you’ve been through — no I don’t — but you’re a liar. You’re a stone-cold-faced liar, Shyne. First of all, you remember when D-Roc had to beat you up in that studio ’cause you were feeling yourself? You lucky you signed to Bad Boy ’cause if you did not sign to Bad Boy and you signed to Def Jam or anywhere else they were gonna pound you out like the day they beat you up at that studio. Shyne, you can’t lie with me around, bruh.”

Funk Flex continued to drag Shyne and asked why he showed up to support Diddy while receiving the key to New York City from Mayor Eric Adams earlier this year if he “hated Puff so much” and felt he was Diddy’s scapegoat in the 1999 club shooting. Flex called him a “sucker” and said, “I can’t stand you. You got no guts.” He continued, “You went to jail because you took out your gun ’cause you was scared to get punched in the face by some dudes that you knew that was your people that you jerked. You jerked them ’cause you were signed to them first, Shyne. Shyne, you were signed to those dudes first.”

Flex threatened, “I am going to expose you, Shyne, ’cause you’re a liar. You could fool your country on who you are, but you ain’t fooling me. You had 10 record deals because you sound like The Notorious B.I.G. and he died. Everybody wanted to spit in your face back then, Shyne, including me. You sounded like Biggie and was capitalizing off of it… Shyne, your records were wack too.”
