Mark Wahlberg and Michelle Monaghan are set to return for a sequel to the action comedy The Family Plan at Apple Original Studios. They will be joined by Zoe Colletti and Van Crosby, who will also reprise their roles.

Simon Cellan Jones, director of the action-comedy, is set to return with David Coggeshall, the writer of the first movie.

Wahlberg in a statement: “I am beyond excited to step back into the shoes of Dan Morgan again alongside my brilliant co-stars, and with Simon and David returning.

“Making The Family Plan, and seeing it become an instant success with global audiences in the way that it did, has been incredibly rewarding.

“We can’t wait to collaborate with our partners at Apple and Skydance again on this next chapter for the Morgan family as their European holiday inevitably goes awry.”

The first film was just one of those stupid silly projects to offer fun entertainment for families. It wasn’t a great film and it was met with bad reviews from critics, but audiences enjoyed it.

David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Don Granger will produce the movie for Skydance.
