During an interview with Emily Simpson, Variety pointed out how “castmates can descend into warfare, where each “team” will have each other’s back no matter what” pointing out that it was refreshing to see Emily Simpson take every situation case by case.“
Emily Simpson replied that she is very analytical and that it’s “the attorney in me,” adding, “To me, the show is the most important thing, so I don’t want to see us end up somewhere like “New Jersey,” where you have a very divisive cast and people aren’t filming together. I’ve had people say: “Why didn’t you back up Shannon even more? Or why didn’t you tell Tamra off?”
Emily explains,” I’m going to tell Tamra what I think, but I’m not going to hate her and refuse to film with her. That way, I feel like there’s always a bridge and that we’re always a cast, as opposed to three people over here and three people over here who won’t be in the same room together. That’s when the show is dead.”
It has been said that Teresa Giudice and Melissa Gorga would not film scenes together but were both fine with being at the same events. Margaret Josephs also claimed she would not return next season if Teresa Giudice did.
The interviewee brought up the Real Housewives of New Jersey again saying that the background checks on Jennifer Pedranti’s partner Ryan started feeling close to the New Jersey territory in which Emily said,
“I heard a lot of stories about Ryan, too, so I wasn’t really surprised. I’ve googled him myself, because when there’s all these accusations flying around about someone, and I don’t like to speak to things unless I know what I’m talking about. I don’t just throw out accusations, I actually do the research on things.”
Emily Simpson continued, “On one hand, you do want to know who you’re filming with and who you’re associated with. Especially as an attorney, there were times where I was like: “I don’t know if I want to be connected to people that are involved in certain things.” So for me, that’s a gray area.”
