Recap Of New Court Filing Against Diddy
AP News reports that prosecutors submitted the new paperwork late Friday (Nov. 15) in a Manhattan federal court. It contains redactions but primarily argues against Diddy’s latest $50 million bail proposal. By the way, the proposal will get its day in court next week.
As for the alleged obstruction, prosecutors say they have recorded jail calls from Combs to family members. In these alleged calls, Diddy reportedly asked family members to reach out to potential victims and witnesses. Additionally, the filing claims that Combs asked his family to create “narratives” to influence the jury pool and recommended strategies to help his tainted public image.
“The defendant has shown repeatedly — even while in custody — that he will flagrantly and repeatedly flout rules in order to improperly impact the outcome of his case. The defendant has shown, in other words, that he cannot be trusted to abide by rules or conditions,” the prosecutors’ filing states.
Moreover, prosecutors are implying that Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is moving with the intention of blackmailing victims and witnesses into staying quiet or testimony that works in his favor.
