After years of anticipation, gaming fans are finally being treated to the release of Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl. Many are wondering whether the game will be available on PS5. This latest installment marks the fourth entry in the popular FPS video game series. Excitement is at an all-time high, as this is the first S.T.A.L.K.E.R. game since Call of Pripyat was released 15 years ago in 2009.

Without further ado, here’s everything we know about why Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl is not currently available on PS5.

Why Stalker 2 will not be available on PS5

Stalker 2 will not be available on PlayStation consoles at launch. The game is confirmed as an exclusive release for Xbox Series X|S and PC via Windows.

The highly anticipated sequel, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, is set to launch on November 20, 2024. Reports confirm that the game will be available on Xbox Game Pass for both PC and Xbox Series X|S, and it will also be available for purchase via Steam. However, as of now, there is no information about the game’s arrival on PlayStation consoles. (Source: Insider Gaming)

That said, the previous entry in the series, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat, was available on PC but never officially released on PlayStation consoles. Despite this, fans are hopeful that Stalker 2 might eventually make its way to PS5. However, there is currently no official confirmation or timeline for such a release, leaving fans eagerly awaiting further announcements.

In the past, several Xbox-exclusive games have eventually been launched on Sony’s consoles after a delay. Titles such as Grounded, Sea of Thieves, and Hi-Fi Rush were initially Xbox exclusives but later became available on PlayStation. This trend has led fans to speculate that Stalker 2 might follow a similar trajectory and could potentially arrive on PS5 sometime after its initial release on Xbox and PC.

For now, however, there is no concrete information about a PlayStation release. Rest assured, we will update you with any new announcements regarding Stalker 2’s availability on PS5.
